Looks solid. I would ideally change the Rippers into a third Mucolid and put AG on the Mawlocs if you are going to find yourself assaulting with them (4 Attacks at S7 AP2with Fleet should help destroy vehicles) but if not, Rippers are fine.

Gotta fight those adlances somehow!
I do love the mucolids but rippers are cool for dropping onto an objective.
I used to put AG onto the Mawlocs but rarely found it to make much of a difference. ( prefer burrow and then come back up!)

Ok. Obviously a good sign. Seems like a list you just need to keep playing with to really master. I see no fundamental issues with it.

I personally like two mawlocs. I always run them in pairs. It tends to scare my opponent a little more than just one mawloc. Makes them not take the gamble that a mawloc is going to scatter and miss their juicy targets if I have two chances at a terror from the deep. 20 gargoyles would help you with board control, but your list is not really geared to trying to control the board in that way

Mawlocs are awesome but I had a test game today and quite frankly, I got merked! The Mawlocs either missed every time or failed to inflict any ( successful) wounds to the units they where hitting.
The Dimachaeron is potentially awesome but it is also a huge target and I'm starting to notice a pattern. ( It tends to die very quickly)
now a few of my friends are suggesting dropping the dimachaeron for another dakkafex in pod OR finding the room for the lictor formation.

1815 TOTAL
Thats 5 FMC as apposed to 4. Crones are awesome anti air and also very good anti knights ( haywire missiles)
I also drop two random/ less reliable sources of damage output.
what do you think?

Mawlocs really are hit and miss, which can really be detrimental in a tournament situation in which you want reliability. This is especially true if you are not the gambling type. Sad to see the dima go, but he was kind of the lone melee threat and rightly should be targeted first. Its a sad reality of the current lean towards shooting over melee. So the extra dakkafex seems like a good pickup, given the shooting focus, even if he does have those stupid looking little t rex arm devourers. Should do well.
4 FMC is good, but 5 is better! Big fan of the crones, so definitely would've been my choice here too.
Only thing i'm seeing now is that the lone mawloc feels a little out of place. I like them in twos, but have had little luck with a lone one. They just dont tend to have the same impact on the game when there is only one of them.

I agree, one just leaves me with that "somethings missing" feeling but with the lictor there it's still a pretty hefty threat.
Okay.
what about this?
I really don't want to drop the dimachaeron as I feel it has so much potential to turn games. It's the only source of instance death in the list and is therefore now of the better ways to truly deal with death stars. Gargoyles are there to help tarpit units with the Dimachaeron.
Ok. If you couldn't tell from my earlier posts, im a dima fan. Fan of the gargoyles to tarpit for him too. However, not at all a fan of a lone lictor.they are not tough. while their pheremone trail is good for the mawloc, it also requires the lictor to be right up next to those big scary umits you want your mawloc to mow on. This new list doesnt have the punch the other list felt like it had. You lost a crone and dakkafex for the dima and his gargoyle unit. Not bad, but i think you went the wrong direction there

Like I said, I'm just over thinking it now! I think that I wil run my original list as I still think it's solid but I certainly need a few more practice games vs Tau. On reflection I was in for a rough ride from the get go anyway- playing for kill points let all of the riptides stay in their deployment zone bunched together ( the area with little to no cover to land in!) which was the perfect spot to intercept me before I could even cause any damage. Perhaps a different mission and board set up could have changed the way things went but my opponent played a much better game than me and totally deserved the win!
Anyhow, the game that I'm rambling on about where I got owned can be watched here if you're interested!

Its so easy to start over thinking this stuff. I do it all the time, usually at work. Your first two lists are definitely better. They have a lot more punch and feel more cohesive overall. Stop thinking and keep playing. You'll get a feel for what needs to change, if anything.

2nd list is definitely the better one. The thing your list is missing is ground support and objective grabbing units. I'd drop a crone/ fex, for a summoning seer on a jetbike, with 3 other jetbikes.
