So I'm struggling with which list to bring to an upcoming tournament. I have been play testing the Necron list. It does well but lacks massed killing. The second list I have only played once. But it was a lot of fun. List submission is next week! So which list would worry yoh the most:

List A

Necron Overlord
Catacomb Command Barge, Phase Shifter, Semp Weave, Mindshackle Scarabs, Warscythe
Royal Court: 2 x Stormtek, 1 x Despairtek

5 x Deathmarks
Night Scythe

6 x Wraiths

Annihilation Barge

List B

Iridium, Drone Controller, 2 x Missile Pod

Riptide
Ion/Fusion, Stim, EWO

HBC/SMS, Stims

10 x Kroot

10 x Kroot

4 x Marker Drones

3 x Broadsides
Missiles, EWO

3 x Broadsides
Missiles, EWO

Eldar Allies

Farseer (will be summoning)
Jetbike, Mantle of The Laughing God, Spirit Stone of Anath'Lan

3 x Windrider Jetbikes

Wraithknight

Second list is obviously very vulnerable to Grav spam...

Caledonian Uprising by any chance?

Both lists are good, necrons have been hit and miss in tournaments lately, doing well in some and poorly in others, so it's hard to say how they will do in the current meta.

The tau list is a bit odd, one riptide hasn't got stims, so will be targeted first and no markerlights, actually no drones at all and your commander has a drone controller.

If you go with tau then the list needs work. The necron list is solid, but again I don't know how it will perform.

I agree, the second list needs work. Drone controllers don't work on missile drones and I guess that is what you had intended it for?

The second list should use the firebase support cadre rules giving you tank hunter and preferred enemy for your broadsides and 1 riptide.

Thanks for te feedback. Well done on spotting the dumb mistake. I had forgotten to type in the drone unit! 4 x market drones, which the commander joins to buff the Riptides against one unit.

It is indeed for Caledonian Uprising. Sadly the Cally rules only allow for an army to include 2 detachments (including formations) so can't take FBSC plus allied detachment. Eldar are there because wraithknight and summoning. Also another highly mobile obsec unit for contesting/scoring.

I'd go for the first list.
Necrons are very solid.
In the second list I'd swap Tau and Eldar.

You could try this for an equivalent to list 2:

Commander target lock, 2 missile pods, drone controller and 2 marker drones
Commander target lock, 2 missile pods and 2 marker drones

Riptide ion accelerator, SMS and early warning override
Riptide ion accelerator, SMS and early warning override
Riptide heavy burst cannon, fusion blaster, earth caste pilot array and velocity tracker

Solo suit bonding knife
3 suits 3 bonding knives, 6 missile pods, 3 target locks and 6 marker drones

3 broadsides bonding knives, high yield missile pods and SMS

Farseer the spirit stone of anath'lan, singing spear and jetbike

3 jetbikes
3 jetbikes

Wraithknight

Plenty of markerlights and just as much firepower. The only thing is it's now farsight enclaves primary.

4 stormteks out of 2 royal courts? Aren't you limited to one of each harbinger type per court?:

Necrons are way more resilient to bad matchups than Tau are. You'll win a bunch of games 4-3 rather than winning some 7-0 and losing some 0-7, which is how lists that go that heavily into Tau tend to play right now.

As a Daemon player, I view any list with that many points spent on Broadsides and Riptides as virtually an auto-win right now. In most cases it's over by Turn 2 or 3.

No, just only one Court Member per Royal Court can be attached to any given unit (which is why people have to take two Overlords to double up on Crypteks in individual units).

Why do you say that about the Riptides and Broadsides giving you an autowin? Just curious.

Now that answer has got me curious. What Daemons are you running that makes assault viable against Broadsides? I run double firebase support cadre and assault is never the issue against Daemons.

Ha do you have any issues with Daemons then? Because their shooting isn't giving anybody any issues.

Mostly psychic powers are the issue with Daemons and summoning to flood the board and win on VPs against the static FBSC style army. But assault from Daemons never causes me a concern.
