I recently finished painting up batches of cops from West Wind and Tactical Miniatures. Very pleased with both lines, though they are quite different in style. It was a first for me as I tried a bit of freehand (with mixed results) on the Chicago Flag insignia. Regardless, I finally have some figs to accompany my CPD cruisers!

More pics and a review of the figures here:

Or the white teen that was shot right after the black teen, yet no one said anything about him...

To the OP, great job on the figs, they look pretty cool!

Like most of my figs, these were speed painted, but I'm really happy with the way they came out. I'm thinking that maybe my Narc officers and detectives should move up the painting queue a bit.

I've actually got three of these cars. Two I'm keeping stock for modern/Near-Future/Zombie kind of games. The third one I'm going to post-apocify for pulpy mad-max style games.

Thanks!
Aside from the flags and checks, the painting is really nothing but base colors a drybrushe on the hair and a brush-dip with Minwax Polyshades "Tudor".

That's a very good point about the cruiser. I'm still thinking about how much, if any to weather/damage the squad cars. White is not an easy color to gently weather. Right now it's completely stock except that I removed the body and matte sprayed it so it wouldn't be shiny. It's likely that it won't get much more than a lighty dusting of tan around the bottom edge, but who knows...

Looks good.

Also, Chicago PD wear vests on the outside of their uniform. Load bearing kits. Much more comfortable than a standard BPV worn on the inside of your shirt.

A lot of those cars don't get switched out until they reach 300k miles.

So there will be plenty of weathering, but your car is your office, so you make it look good. I would leave the car as is bro.

I see you are based in Cubs country. It's been a while for me since I've seen a uniform. Maybe they stopped with the vests. You would be the authority on that. Last I saw they were.

Thanks!

You're right about the vests. The vests I've seen on CPD officers are worn on the outside. However, most seem to be the same light blue color as the shirts, some even having shirt style pockets.

For the figs, I figured I'd just paint them all blue and I armor or not is just a matter of game stats.
