I've decided as a mix of liking the model and needing a imperial knight counter to get a shadowsword. Does using it in my general lists around 1750+ points (because I love tanks) make me a jerkwad?

I don't see why, especially if the opponent has an IK.

Even in 1500 since it would be like a third it should be alright to.

This is a though one because you're saying yourself it's a mix of "I like it" and "I need it".

I bought a Lord of Skulls and Transcendant C'Tan (because I like the models) and my friend (who plays Tau mind you) bought a revenant because "I forced him to by bringing OP gak to the table".

Ok, the C'tan is quite powerful with the right powers but I purposely don't pick the strongest powers ever since I found out how strong it can be. LoS is just very underpowerd for the cost.

If you're like me, buying them because you like them, you're never a dick. If you start buyig stuff solely because it makes you win, you're a dick.

You don't have to be happy when you lose, just don't make winning the condition of your happiness.

Yes, how dare someone have the nerve to try and win an INHERENTLY COMPETITIVE GAME. I forgot we were in kindergarten gym class where the scoreboard is turned off and everyone gets a trophy.

But victory means nothing if you just paid for it. If you are playing against people who are supercompetitive, by all means go hard and buy all the toys with a clean conscience, knowing your opponents will be doing the same thing. However, "bringing a gun to a knife fight" is not conducive to mutual fun and could be considered jerkwadish.

I'm not worried about losing friends since my best friends either don't care or use to spam helldrakes. More worried about 1750 pickup games.

except that this game uses a points scale to balance, yes I know it's far from perfect, but it's not like you're beating up on some poor kid who can only afford a tatical squad with your 5 Reaver Titans. if I've got a 1500 point army, you've got a 1500 point army sure you may have due to what you choose to take have spent more or less money then the other guy has for that point value, but that's no more buying a win, then a IG infantry list is buying a win vs a 20 man "dragio wing" list of the same value that gets buried under the bodies

Opinions are not facts please don't confuse the two
