Well, it'll be 2015 in just a couple days which has got me thinking about what I've accomplished with my hobby/job this year, and what I'd like to do next year. This is my resolution list:

- Get a camera, learn about proper lighting.
- Start a blog, to keep myself motivated and to learn how I can improve from project to project.
- Make a portfolio to help either expand my business or join a studio team.
- No new personal projects until I finish my backlog and commissions. My backlog is...daunting, but the commissions always take priority.
- Focus on techniques/tools that I'm not as comfortable with, like osl, weathering, GS sculpting

2014 has been a great year overall, and I'm hoping with my resolutions that 2015 will be even better. How about you lovely people, do you have any hobby goals for next year? Please post pics of what you created this year if you like, I'll be borrowing a camera in a day or two and I'll post some of my work as well.

*If someone else normally does this, then mods please move this to the appropriate thread*

I have declared 2015 the Year of Terrain! I have so much terrain to paint/build as well as a Tablescapes board to complete. My local club needs its terrain overhauled as well.

Just picked up 2 tables from Bunnings yesterday so now I have the base for it all. Now to airbrush everything and hope my little compressor holds out!

Weathering everything will be lots of work, but fun work!

Get your models on the table and looking good!

Build everything I have. Unassembled stuff just takes up so much space.

I've got stacks of GW cases filled with models that need TLC, stripping, re-assembly, and other boxes of all shapes and sizes filled to capacity with models that need all of the above as well. Then I've got one big storage box filled with efficiently packed sealed boxes of product that need work, and they're high-volume too, there are two Necron battleforces, two Tau battleforces, and two Beastmen battalions among a bunch of other units/beasts/machines/baggies full of crap.

I'm probably gonna recruit non-hobbyists to do all the monkey work like assembling infantry. They'll have fun and I'll just provide junk food and special beverages.

edits - Typos ugh.

Terrain will basically be the entirety of my commission work once I finish this Space Hulk set and a Voltron themed Wraithknight. My local club hired me to build up and paint 4 tables worth of terrain, so I feel ya there. Thankfully I just picked up an airbrush and compressor a couple months ago.

Are you going to be scratch-making terrain, or building kits?

I have a spreadsheet where I list all my minis, I have weighted them according to points value and divided into assembly, painting and basing. At present the completion rate is 25%, it need to get to atleast 50% before I get to buy anything more.

Beside that, just generally, take time to paint... it makes me happy... I like being happy.

I'd like to turn the unfinished space beneath my deck into a game room/workshop so I can host games at my place instead of various apartments that have limited space.

I also need to pack away the models that are just taking up space so they don't gather dust. I just bought a Battlefoam bag for the task.

2015 resolution: "Do more than in 2014." Using numbers like that makes it different than last year's "do more than in 2013" or the previous year's "do more than in 2012." Brilliant, no? Gotta keep things fresh.

Games wise, I'm sorted. I regularly get around 2 games in a week. No need to worry about that.

I'm in the process of starting a new project for the new year. My aim is to only contribute to this army through out the year. I've got a bunch of other models around, so I'll probably dip into those when I need a break, but at the end of the year, I would like a single, large army. Apocalypse, here I come!

Stop having so many partially assembled models for painting lying around.

Since I'm not the only one doing the buying, it's harder for me to keep up with my boxes/assemble/paint ratio, but I'd like to keep it so I have fewer assembled/partially assembled models lying around waiting for paint.

I'm going to vow to get my tyranid army a little more bulked out as I want to have a large collection of models to vary games.

And to start my chow case army of blood angels, I'll be buying my first squad of tacticals on Saturday, and I'm waiting to hear from fantascape about some painted gothic ruin bases to pop them on

I am going to paint my Slaanesh army. I have been obsessed with painting an army quickly and realized that doing it that way isn't enjoyable. Thus, I'm going to spend time on this army and paint it to a standard that I will be proud of. I have a lot of models to paint, though... I just have to dedicate myself. I BELIEVE!!

Also I'm going to break it up by building a board so my friends can come to my place to play games as well. That way we can drink

Paint my Sons of Orar, a board of Terrain, then do a giant land cruiser for them to be displayed on. Then next chapter.

Before all of that, finish my GMS swaps!

Reduce my collections to 1 army per system! Then I won't feel so guilty about needing at least one of every option for each army!

Oh and to paint more than I purchase (so prezzie's don't count)!

I made a resolution last year (or was that two years ago) that I'm not going to buy any more miniatures until I've painted what I've got... but I found that to be unrealistic. I mean, I have several boxes of Perry Bros War of the Roses http://www.thewarstore.com/PerryBros28mmWarRosesPlastic.html, but I don't really play 28mm all that much. So, sure my purchase of 28mm Perry Plastics was probably ill advised, but why paint them up?

So, instead, this year, I'm vowing to not buy any new miniatures that don't directly fit the project I'm currently working on.

My current project is to finish the Japanese, which will be done by the end of this month, and then I'm onto some Renaissance Danes.
