Interesting that the codex looks to be cheaper than harlequins with the same content level.

Yeah, it probably means it is bunk. When's the last codex/supplement that was cheaper than $50?

Hm, I wonder what all will be in Codex: Skitarii then. Does the time of release mean that these new Sicarians are part of the codex? Or are they just models in preparation for Codex: AdMech?

So Codex: Skitarii is like a mini dex? And then Codex: AdMech will be later this year? Personally I'd rather just wait for the the AdMech one. Kinda feels like they're saying "Hi, please buy this half-codex, so it can be obsolete in a few months when you buy the full one. Money, please."

We don't know.
The Skitarii and Dragoon/Ballistarius are both labeled "Adeptus Mechanicus" on the box rather so the Sicarians are likely part of the Codex.
Personally, from the descriptions we're getting on them? I think that the Sicarian is going to be able to get placed into a Skitarii squad to act almost like the Dark Elf/Skaven Assassins.
The Ruststalkers might be something akin to the Solitaire.

I'll probably grab the Skitarii book because I love the Admech fluff and I wants it. But I do it knowing the units are LIKELY rolled into the POTENTIALLY larger codex that MIGHT be coming out this year.
So if they are just reprinted and put into the book I'm still ok with it

The supposed Sicarian description outright saying you can make a "mix of both" dispels my expectation that they would be some kind of Elite, close-combat unit. As others are saying that really implies something that potentially can run independently, or maybe in small 3-man units?
Weird kit though, if that is the case. I feel like its odd for GW to not just sell it as a box of 3, if that were the case, or as solo clampack models if they are ICs.
The Codex being sub-$40usd also makes me want to call doubt on this. :-p

The claim is actually that Sicarians are a box of 5, not three.
Someone did point out that the price point listed by the Italian poster is in line with the Power Armored Grey Knights box.

"Mix of both" makes me think of something like old SW Wolf Guard or Necron Royal Court - powerful individual models to attach to squadrons. I guess we'll just have to wait... I hate waiting

I'm gonna guess the Sicarian are our Codex: Skitarii elite choice; from the sound of it, maybe some sorta proto-eversor assassin, or the ones that don't turn out quite right.

If Sanguinary Priests are anything to go by, it'd be an £18 clampack with one pose and no options, not a set of 5 with multiple options.

Yeah, it almost exactly matches. Quick and dirty £-$US conversion is knock 1/3 off the dollar price, allow a few dollars for regional pricing variations and it's right on the nose.

Oh definitely, I was more meaning that the Euro price bracket which was reported first by an Italian independent(which actually had the product description, name, etc first) didn't match with the GBP or USD price bracket...which it should have.

I'll get the Codex for several reasons. 1. I want to learn more about the fluff. 2. I want to have as many formation options as possible. 3. I want to be able to ally this small force with my Space Marines. and 4. I have no idea when the full Admech Codex will drop. It could be the next month, it could be a year from now. I'd rather start buying, building, painting, and playing with the models now rather than a year from now I would start to feel very silly if I declare to wait for the full Admech Codex, only to wait week after week with nothing coming... Of course, it could come just a few weeks later, but I know the Skitarii book will have its own relics, its own formations, and its own warlord traits, which is enough for now.

That's why I have a feeling it will just be this And possibly Explorer fleet type codex thing. The Mechanicus is an Empire in itself ( as far as I understand) and there's no way a single book could do them all ( unless we went back to 2nd Ed style codicies.

Could be very right - Personally I would love to have a Mechanicus Codex (and most of the others) in the same format the same as the Campaign and End Times books - so huge shiny fluff book and a seperate small book with rules - even sell the rules stuff seperate as well.
