Your Chaos Lord doesn't have a weapon to negate armour, and appear to be reliant on the small squad of Warp Talons to do the damage.

The Plague Marine squad could be reduced to gain a Rhino and/or Champion upgrade such as a Power fist or Melta bombs. I would also consider giving the Possessed squad a Rhino for protection and mobility when the table roll falls short.

If you're going to take a 500 point assault death star and a 500 point tank, I feel Be'Lakor is REQUIRED for guaranteed invisibility. Without it, I see the chances of your deathstar actually reaching close combat as a big fat zero. Imagine your 7 models charging a 2000 point army, alone. Not sure what your plan was there, haha

That's alright though! I like where you are going with this. You have a lot of stuff in here that seems very random. The possessed, for instance. How were they going to reach combat? I do not understand. Let's start from the ground up. You obviously want the baneblade, and the death star, with Nurgle's lucky number 7.

Chaos Lord-MoN, Daemonheart, Jump Pack, SoC, Slaughteres Horns, Blade of the Relentless (Warlord)
Be'lakor
6 Warp Talons- MoN (Chaos Lord here)
Baneblade- Lascannon Sponsons

That's 1293 points. Now let's add your fliers

Chaos Lord-MoN, Daemonheart, Jump Pack, SoC, Slaughteres Horns, Blade of the Relentless (Warlord)
Be'lakor
Heldrake- Baleflamer
Heldrake- Baleflamer
6 Warp Talons- MoN (Chaos Lord here)
Baneblade- Lascannon Sponsons

Ok, now you have some very, very frightening units, but no troops! You also could use some more anti-armor. Lets add Plague Marines with melta guns.

Chaos Lord-MoN, Daemonheart, Jump Pack, SoC, Slaughteres Horns, Blade of the Relentless (Warlord)
Be'lakor
5 Plague Marines- 2 Melta Guns, Rhino
5 Plague Marines- 2 Melta Guns, Rhino
Heldrake- Baleflamer
Heldrake- Baleflamer
6 Warp Talons- MoN (Chaos Lord here)
Baneblade- Lascannon Sponsons

And there we are!

EDIT: Since you are taking a look at Crimson Slaughter, seriously think about taking a sorcerer with the Balestar. Cast Prescience on your baneblade every turn for pretty much guaranteed twin-linked on ALL THE BANEBLADES WEAPONS

I could see Be'lakor being a useful addition, along with a Jump Sorcerer with Telepathy or Biomancy.

I don't have the book with me nor recall at the moment, but is the BotR from the Crimson Slaughter book? The wounds caused by the Chaos Lord (not Hammer of Wrath) need to be counted to receive the (cumulative) benefit.

Why in the world would you ever purchase Warp Talons over Raptors? Use Raptors, buy some Melta Guns, and enjoy your saved points for a better unit too.

Because he thinks they look cool?

They literally do nothing better than charging Marines not hiding in cover. Even "looking cool" isn't an excuse for that poor of a choice.

Raptors easily adapt the T5 and would still come in higher numbers while carrying Meltas and grenades. Warp Talons do nothing superior except charging Marines outside of cover. That's how it works.

5 havocs with 4 ac is not 315 pts.

And an un upgrade forgefiend is not 200. The ecto plasma head is not worrth it! Due to incompatible range and not shooting at flyers.

The dumbist rule because real life anti air guns use air burst to detonate in the air to hit planes.

leaving my helldrakes dealing with the anti air is prettysilly as i learnt the other day they just cant kill stuff quick enough so ive had a play around with my list taking some advice from above,

Chaos lord, Mon, Daemonheart, slaughteres horns, sigil 180

lvl3 sorcerer. balestar, plasmapistol, Mon 190

7 plague marines, 2 meltaguns, meltabombs, rhino 228

7 plague amrines, 2 plasma guns, meltabombs, rhino 238

7 possesed, MoN (rollingonthecrimsonslaughtertable) 180

FW Hell Blade, 2 helstorm cannons 115

FW Hell Blade, 2 helstorm cannons 115

Chaos land raider, dirge caster, put lord possesed and sorcerer in here

finishes at 1981 points so still got 20 to play with

lolz at how you dropped the 2 hel turkeys for helblades!

Honestly I would drop the possessed too but I predict you spent much time and effort painting and modeling them.

I would just do a min max list

Lord, MoN-80

5 Plague Marines, 2 meltas, rhino-175
5 Plague Marines, 2 meltas, rhino-175

3 Helblades, helstorm cannons-345

Bane Blade for 500? I would rather get the Typhoon as your lord of war with ignores cover shots

Sicaran with malefic ammo for rending and ignores cover shots
Relic predator with malefic ammo for rending shots not sure you can get ignores cover shots

If you have room

Ally or double cad

Can he get another Typhoon and sicaran this way? or does he need warp smith?

Ally Regular CSM or Black Legion

HQ-Sorc or that required warp smith

Troop-10 cultist

Fast Attack-Helblade, helstorm cannon-115

Heavy Support-Sicaran

Lord of War-Typhoon

Go for ultimate cheese to fight wave serpent spam cheese and all other cheese!

The tyhpon is a super heavy, 6 hp, land raider armour, only costs as much as belakor.. can be upgraded to be immune to melta (oh yes) has a rule that improves its thunderblitz.

But the gun. Man the gun is insane. 48" 7" blast s10 ap1 ignores cover. Drops to range 24 if you move.

Its also not an infernal relic, which helps. And one of the few chaos supers that can take legacies of ruin (although none jump out as super useful)
maybe fourth quadrant rebellion. 30 pts, gives cultists within 12 fearless (perfect bubblewrap) and. 4+ invun on your last hullpoint.

Im not entirely sure a baneblade is a legal lord of war for chaos marines. Chaos renegades can take one, but you would need to fill out a CAD (can be done for only 105 pts!) .
