I've been looking for a good rule set for AWI in 15mm range. I am open to 28mm but I prefer 15 for horse and musket era. Anyone have any suggestions beside Black Power?

Maurice or British Grenadier.

I use Perry figs as the plastics are so cheap, but I think Blue Moon did a nice 15mm range.

Peter Pig have some fantastic 15mm AWI models. I have a WIP British army from them. They have rules for a game too but I've not looked at them.

Well, you don't stuff facts into the Right Wing Outrage Machine©. My friend, you load it with derp and sensationalism, and then crank that wheel.

If you use unit basing, I recommend giving Kings of War a look.

Thank you all for your responses. I was looking into Peter Pig, but I will take a look at Blue moon as well. I've had good luck with them for 15mm WW2 stuff. I always forget about perry. Old glory is my normal go to.

I would recommend trying out Regimental Fire and Fury. Their site has the AWI sheet to adjust for the period.

Apparently Osprey's new rules "Land of the Free" are good.

For AWI skirmishes you can use "Muskets & Tomahawks" by the guys who wrote SAGA

I've wanted to try Muskets & Tomahawks as Saga is a fairly well done rule set. Is it any good? Old Glory now carries the Wargames Factory AWI plastic sets and will include a mounted general with them.

I really like M&T. It gives a great narrative game with its combination of scenario objectives (different for each side) plus a personal objective for your officer. The game is card driven and has lists for British, French, German Mercenaries, Americans and Indians. There's a lot of flexibility in the lists so you could build a British force, for example, based around regulars, or light infantry, or rangers, or provincials, or grenadiers, or militia, or indians!

Or even use it as napoleonics skirmish with some imagination.

I would recommend Land of the Free but I am bias. I wrote it.

Blue Moon 15mm are very nice for miniatures.

Here are a few reviews you can check out:

http://palousewargamingjournal.blogspot.com/2014/10/land-of-free-review.html

http://landofthefreewargaming.blogspot.com/ - If you scroll down you will links to a handful of reviews.

You can also join the Land of the Free Facebook Group and ask the guys what they think of the rules.

Whatever your decision welcome to AWI gaming and enjoy.

Hey guys. Happy New Year. Got a little busy at the beginning of the year but now I am back trolling.

I do have plans to write other rules sets. I am contemplating a set of ACW rules and I recently created my own company with our first Kickstarter launching March 23. We are producing a range of ancient Chinese historical and fantasy 28mm miniatures.

So keep an eye on Watchful I Studio in the future. We are on Facebook at the moment but are working on a website.
