As per the above. I've just done another plastic crack order but wussed out on the Vengeance and went for a Predator.

What do you lot think?

As a Dark Angel player, I really want to like the Vegeance/Shroud but I can not see the benefit. Sure the cover save for the Shroud is great, espically if your play style is castle up and run dakka banner. And the Vengrance is just too many points for what it does on such a weak chasis that can kill itself.

Men have become tools of their tools.

For 80 points, the Darkshroud seems like a decent gamble to buff turbo-boosting bikers. At 140 points, the Vengeance just feels too fragile. You can get a S10, AP2 large blast from a Vindicator with AV13 and 3 HPs for 15 points less. Regardless, the Vengeance/Darkshroud is a hideous looking kit...

I agree with you about the points vs the effectiveness, that darkshroud can be worth it but vengeance is almost alway overpriced, but I personally do like the look of them, especially the darkshroud. It has that level of over-embellishment that I've come to love from the DA.

On moon miranda.

The Darkshroud can kinda work, but you'll be jinking every turn. The Vengeance however is way too fragile for what it costs, particularly when it can potentially kill itself in a single turn.

The correct pronunciation is Imperial Guard and Stormtroopers, "Astra Militarum" and "Tempestus Scions" are something you'll find at Hogwarts.

True, but you're not really expecting much from a speeder with a single heavy weapon bolted to it. On the other hand, scattering a 2+ cover save over it and two nearby black knight units gives you a spearhead that is almost impossible for an enemy to stop before it hits home.

The Vengeance is.... well... it's only really good if you're restricting yourself to a pure ravenwing army, because it's then your only source of big kabooms. I wouldn't bother.
