WAAAGH!

Building on a 1000pts list I designed a while ago based around a biker star, I thought of how I would take it up to 1750 points. Seeing as the 1k version was basically the star with grots as troops, I wanted to add some flexibility while going for a speed freak theme. The answer came as I double-checked Zhadsnark's rules and saw that the ARMY and not his detachement gets warbiker mobs as troops. Bye grots, hello bikes! In order to stand a chance in maelstrom missions, which I have yet to try, I decided to go for more speedy but also MSU elements:

*CAD*
-HQ-
Zhadsnark da Rippa' 150
Warboss w. Bike, Klaw, Da Lucky Stikk 135pts

-Troops-
(14) Warbikerz, Nob w. PK 287
(6) Warbikerz, Nob w. PK, BP 148
(6) Warbikerz, Nob w. PK, BP 148

-FA-
Deffkopta w. TL Rokkit 30
Deffkopta w. TL Rokkit 30
Deffkopta w. TL Rokkit 30

*Great WAAAGH! Detachement*
-HQ-
Big Mek w. Bike, Killsaw, Mega FF, Big Bosspole 185
Painboy w. Bike 75

-Troops-
(3) Warbikerz, Nob w. BC, Combi-Skorcha 79
(3) Warbikerz, Nob w. BC, Combi-Skorcha 79

-Elites-
Boss Snikrot 60
(15) Kommandos w. 2 Burnas, Nob w. PK, BP 220

-FA-
Deffkopta w. TL Rokkit 30
Deffkopta w. TL Rokkit 30
Deffkopta w. TL Rokkit 30

All characters go in the large biker mob, forming the star, which scouts together with the koptas. The point here is to force the enemy to fire everything he got into the massive but also tanky biker mob loaded with extra s9-10ap2 attacks while the other elements zip around and harass, while also being small enough so that any shots fired would be overinvested. If he instead tries to take out the other elements, the star will reach his lines and should krump everything it touches in a multi-assault. No AA would be an issue (RAW Mek Gunz are ok, but RAI Zhadsnark prohibits them. They also don't fit the theme!) if not for the fact that I got 114 TL S5 shots and 6 TL S8 shots. AV 12 fliers will be rough, but I should be able to outposition them. I also added in some outflanking sneaky gitz who compete with the speedboyz about who krumps 'em first! Snikrot and his kommandos are there to provide a distraction, forcing the enemy to spread out and be wary about the table edges as well! Aggressiveness is the name of the game!

My main enemy plays Tau and AM, but I'd like the list to be able to handle most opponents. What are your thought, Dakka?

Looks pretty solid to me.

You own 39 Ork bikes?!?!? Now that would be an impressive sight!

Don't use the Waaagh Ghazghkull supplement detachment. You're only taking it for the MFF, and the Mob rule nerf makes you more likely to die from morale checks. Also, I've tried a list like this once. Be VERY cautious against drop pod spam with frag cannon heavy flamer dreads. (3 templates). A couple of those will ruin your day. They killed every single bike in my 10 man squad with Zhadsnark, KFF Big Mek on bike, and Painboy. Be CAREFUL.

For the guy who leaves it all on the field (because he doesn't pick up after the game).
Keep on rolling

Thanks! I do not own all of the bikes yet, but I have enough for the star. I used to run Nob Bikers, so some of those have been normal bikers lately instead. With this I'll actually purchase roughly 30 bikes though

You're right, the change to mob rule is rough. You're also wrong. I'm taking the Big Bosspole as well as the MFF, so the squad's fearless and I have no worries about the mob rule. Versus Fragiosos and such, deployment becomes critical. I'd really have to place my bikes spaced out and keep my DLS warboss tanking with the MFF save. (Possible if I place smaller units as screens) If I can survive one round vs their shooting, I can turbo boost out of range for the rest of the game, and even come back for an assault if I wish. Another way to keep the star safe vs drop pods is to outflank it, since it has scout. Considering the multitude of small units I have, some should survive by staying hidden. If I'd go with that strategy, I might deploy the kommandos as infiltrators just to provide a distraction.

Anyhow, you're right in that drop pods and various alpha strikes could mean trouble, as I don't get to use my speed to dictate the battle against such lists. I'd have to position my small units as to not allow a drop pods footprint to fit, and then turbo-boost them around the board after the drops.
