Hi! My name is Nils and i'm a Swede. I like jokes, 40k and video games. I paint and sometimes play 40k.
This pages main purpose is to keep all experience i earn myself fresh, but also so that i may share it with others.
I'll start out by shortly describing my homebrew and adding context to the situation: Small agri-world starts going dark after mysterious events, interest starts to spike in what secrets this world keeps, planet starts getting colder since the population that kept the planet habitable has left, lone scouting parties escalate to bigger battles after more and more factions vie to take control over the enigmatic and frosty pearl of a planet. If the Imperium fails to bring back the warming light of the Emperor, the planet is doomed to a millenium under ice. Will any life-form claim this piece of intriguing ground for themselves or will they let sleeping dogs lie?...
Here is what i have acquired as a journeyman painter, player and homebrewer:
A sizable Space Marine force, dedicated to the zealous fervor of the Black Templars, currently on an investigative crusade (because that's how they roll) to the planet.
A small troop of lost Tau that somehow found their way from a Volcanic planet to an icy tundra.
A very tiny fighting force of Imperial Guard that got left behind the fleeing populace.
A Grey Knight that probably knows more than he voices.
A medium sized force of long-neglected eBay Chaos Space Marines that now seek answers for their dank imprisonment within shoeboxes.
A force of anomalous Orks, their flesh pallid and roars exchanged in favor of quiet whispers.
And a single Necron Overlord, watching from the cold, ever-impending darkness of the cracks in the ice and snow....
I'll break off from my little homebrew before it gets too autistic.
My goal for 2015: Finishing my 1000 points Black Templar army and playing my first 40k game with my lazy brother.
And also helping nice people get better at painting, and getting better at playing and painting myself!

This Assault Squad was the second GW thing i ever bought and the first 40k thing i ever bought, and that picture is after the second time i revisited the squad.
The Contemptor, now all but crushed to dust after a series of bad saving attempts, was bought off of eBay and the picture is of the first painting i did of it.
The pictures are old and do not serve any point, but they earn their right to exist by the experience they gave me. (Lenses, power sword, glow off of the plasma gun, and the weathering on the Dreadnought)

Hey Naeoro! Welcome to dakka! I appreciate the fact that the first thing you decided to do was to start a blog, I myself am very proud of my 3000 pt chaos force but I can't bring myself to show them to so many others. Im also interested in the story ideas you came up with, are those backgrounds for the models you own?

Welcome to Dakka! I'd be happy to see your minis across the table from mine!

Hi to you too! Well, i'm looking for input and /tg/ on both 8 and 4 chan are too chaotic for me, no pun intended, so i went here instead. You should totally upload pictures of your force, i'm looking for any and all inspiration to start working on my freshly-stripped Chaos army.
Yes, it's a bit of a homebrew, so to speak. Essentially it's just some glue for all the fighting to make sense. Weird stuff starts happening, the populace starts to abandon their homeworld, enemy forces start moving in, space marines are sent to protect it, the Tau have some sort of gain in fighting there obviously, the Necrons "live" there etc. etc
And since the humans that kept the planet habitable have fled, the climate is turning colder, resulting in snow, hail and ice happening, which justifies the ice bases that i'm now making. The ones in the pictures are a reddish-brown marsian thing, which was the colour scheme of my first gaming board. Essentially the bases i have now are armageddon dust drybrushed with turqoise drybrushed with lighter and lighter turqoise untill a thin layer of white is hit on the peaks of the small piles, then i put a careful amount of glitter upon the bases to represent the reflection and the shine that the ice gives off.

Thanks a bunch! I'll try to take pictures of the rest of my force, so you have a general idea about it.

Two pictures, both terrible in quality.
One is of my two land raiders. I bought them pre-owned on eBay. I have sprayed them and they're awaiting proper painting.
The other picture is of my lone Grey Knight and one of my Templars in my Crusader squad. The Templar is looking down at an abandoned rifle.

Short update.
I still don't have a full picture of my force, unfortunately. I'll try to snap one as soon as possible.
I've ordered a Harlequin Troupe and i've chiseled out the homebrew a tad.
So essentially, there's a power source hidden somewhere on (or in) the planet, i was thinking maybe some arcane tomes or something. The Eldar are there to retrieve the tomes, and the Chaos forces are there to claw at any possibility at empowering their Warlord.
I've also gotten together some bits and i'm planning on making a kitbash Daemon Prince, the Prince obviously being the Warlord after getting a taste of the power that the lost books offer. However, he was interrupted during the metamorphosis so he's got dreadnought legs instead of regular fleshy ones.
The prince is essentially only a thought right now but i'll try to motivate myself into really engaging with him. Right now i'm putting together a papercraft Thunderhawk as a hiatus from normal modelling and painting.

I'm working on a really nice Terminator Chaplain. It's nearing completion so i'll just post the finished one instead of teasing you.
Also, through some digging i managed to score two very cheap Harlequin boxes. This is where local game stores pay off!
