Interesting scenario came up regarding the mess that is the Psychic Phase:

A unit of three Zoanthropes (have the Brotherhood of Psykers USR) successfully manifest Warp Lance, however, roll two 6's and suffer Perils from the Warp.

According to Brotherhood of Psykers (BRB, pg 159), if a unit suffers from Perils, hits are randomly allocated. If a model with this rule gains or loses a psychic power, all other models with this special rule in their unit also gain or lose that power. This I understand.

Here is where it got interesting.

The Tyranid player rolled a 6 when determining Perils and then successfully passed the Leadership. According to the Perils chart (BRB, pg 200), it states 'if the test os passed, the Psyker gains a 3+ Invulnerable save as well as Fleshbane, Armourbane and Smash special rules'.

Since the Zoanthropes are not Psykers, rather a Brotherhood of Psykers, would only one Zoanthrope gains the Smash, Armourbane and Fleshbane rule, or would all the models in the unit gain these rules?

I would think you randomize one Zoanthrope to gain the benefits. It's not a psychic power so they wouldn't all get it due to the BoP rule but it's also not a hit to be randomly allocated. If the test was failed then there would be a hit to randomly allocate so by the same logic it would just make sense to randomly allocate the benefits.

For the same reason a Brotherhood of Psykers is removed entirely if they get "Dragged into the warp" I would say it affects them all, being that they ARE a collective.

Lets brake this down:

According to Brotherhood of Psykers (BRB, pg 159),

If a unit suffers from Perils, hits are randomly allocated.

THEN

If a model with this rule gains or loses a psychic power, all other models with this special rule in their unit also gain or lose that power.

Since Perils itself is not a psychic power I would say it is random. "If a unit suffers from Perils, hits are randomly allocated. "

Perils is also not a 'hit' so it shouldn't necessarily be random either,

This is when we have to guess based on the best possible evidence. It seems to me everything else that 'happens to' the psyker happens to the whole brotherhood when dealing with perils. I would guess that the boons gained from passing the test aslo happen to the whole brotherhood but there is no cut and dry answer here.

The BRB, on "Perils of the Warp", wrote:If a unit suffers Perils of the Warp, roll a D6 and consult the Perils of the Warp table below. If the unit has the Brotherhood of Psykers/Sorcerers special rule, the effects of the Perils of the Warp result apply [sic] a randomly determined model in the unit who has the Brotherhood of Psykers/Sorcerers special rule.
So we've got another section that says the opposite - that only one model gets the tasty bonuses I'm guessing that the specific-rule-trumps-general-rule means that this overrules the previous.

Did you get this from the whole "the term 'Psyker' and 'Psyker unit' refers to any unit with the Psyker, Psychic Pilot, or Brotherhood of Psykers/Sorcerers special rules" rule, combined with "the Psyker is removed as a casualty" rule?

This single rule is, in my opinion, one of the worst, most poorly thought-out rules in the entire BRB. How many warp charges does a Psyker joined to a Brotherhood unit produce? Can one witch manifest powers known to another witch in the unit? If a psyker Perils in a forest, and nobody is around to see his head explode, does it make a sound?

Yeah Brotherhood of Psykers has a specific rule on how to dish out perils and its to a randomly chosen unit....there was a specific intention to have it be randomly allocated IMO. Also since the rule refers to Brotherhood of Psykers specifically, while other rules refer to psyker, I believe its more relevant.
