Why isn't this 2400 points? Lol

Craventail tail is ño good, i can see why you wanna bring plague monks as core but why are you then wasting points on Queek if you don't plan on taking any stormvermin bodyguard for him?
Thats a fat block of plague monks tho for a single unit and once that furnace gets destroyed the unit will die pretty quick I think but might be fun

The idea is for a fun, noncompetitive list. I wanted as many characters as I can fit. This was the combo that fit.

I'd cut the plague monks in half and then pick up 50 uber-stormvermin for Queek to roll with. Plus obligatory chaff, gutters, etc. that make the Skaven army go round. Speaking of fun, how about a healthy unit of censers to orbit the plaguestar? But do you really not have a BSB??

To me, the coolest thing about the plague monks is being able to say "yep that's 100 plague monks". As you know, the effectiveness slopes off pretty quickly. And even if you're going for noncompetitive ... frenzy on your deathstar is just always a bad (and often unfun for you) idea.

I only take Stormvermin if I can make them 5 wide and unbreakable. And avoid all the damage.

This list is a massive unbreakable block buffed by plague magic, and the furnace.

You say it'll be unfun, but I'm going to be charging turn 2 anyway. If I wanted to avoid giving up VPs, I'd play my elves.

Meh, I think you underestimate stormies and the power of throwing ALL THE DICE. And that variety + having more than three units (two of which you can barely control!) to move around is what actually makes Warhams fun

Charging some chaff, you mean? And then mandatory overrunning, then charging more chaff, then mandatory overrunning, then swift reforming back into the game, then time. This is assuming your opponent doesn't have the tools to remove the furnace, reduce your monks (just one delicious casting of Final Trans!), then flank ftw. I dunno dude, I've faced the frenzied deathstar before, and it just tends to suffer.

So you don't want stormies, how about double furnace, one each in big units of monks? It's a little more bent, but still interestingly off the meta, and gives you more options, and your opponent more to worry about. Biggest downside I see is the lack of a second plague banner

Also, I think you mean Skrolk

It is Skrolk, and the monks have the banner. Dunno why it copied from QM like that.

I thought about two furnaces, but it means taking less special characters. I'm loading up on as many as I can. Tretch provides a one use pseudo-BSB. Queek and Skrolk provide combat characters.

Ugh you realize that the furnace will get destroyed pretty quickly and your gunna be left with a very VERY breakable unit?

I'd bring stormvermin because there's no point of queek without them. He makes them badass

There's no point taking Stormvermin without a bell and 2 assassins. As a combat unit, they're terrible.

Lol your actually wrong there is a point...the point is to make it worth it to take queek. Don't say that it isn't worth it when you are bringing special characters and not using their benefits.

Why do you come on here to post an army when you already seem to have all the answers?

We give you suggestions based on our own personal experiences using the units and our successes etc with units, builds etc since you clearly have all the answers to warhammer and think you know how to win every time you probably shouldn't ask for our tips if your just gunna say we are constantly incorrect or unwilling to take advice.

I'm out...peace

I'm just posting this list to see what people think. I've already got a list where I run 35 stormvermin. They never fight, and they hold points. That's good enough. I've also gotten bored of that list, as it's no fun.

This is a list in which I'm taking as many special characters as I can. If anything, I'm dropping models for more. Not dropping characters for stormvermin.

And taking Queek doesn't make them worth it. It makes them vaguely competent. And if I spend that much on a unit, I don't want them to be a vaguely competent one.

Why tretch? His special ability for re-rolls to hit for a unit only works if you have clanrats or stormvermin with him in the unit. He wouldn't even run to a new units because it's just one big plague monk blob.

Also queek isn't taking his special stormvermin which is half the point of taking him unless you want to steal challenges away from people and you could probably do it better with something else.

Yeah and i see no serious hitting power with this list either even with the cannons. I mean yeah plague monks are good at taking hits and this might be ok vs a gun-line list but without any hitting combat units the point to the durability of the monks is kind of wasted. You would also probably do better shooting into slave units instead.

All that said vs elves this list is pretty weak with the possible exception of ikit claw. Even with warp lightning and his special warp lightning (which is a bound spell and therefore doesn't benefit from wizard level and can crumble on a miscast) this isn't enough. You don't really have a good way to take down elves other than a big freaking unit. Oh and super magic spells would destroy this unit which has a ton of points sunk into it.
