Each player will play 3 games per round.
One against each other player.
We would need a single secret objective each that could be completed (only once) in any one of the three games or as my example over the course of all 3 games. For round one I'd say something worth a single campaign point.

There's potential for more than one or higher campaign point value secret objectives later in the campaign but we can discuss those later as narrative builds. Might be a fun way to balance campaign points if someone in running away or lagging behind.

List hand in?

Option 1
Initially I thought just to hand lists in on the day to your 1st opponent to keep things simple and I'm not sure how disciplined people are at painting? Hmm still got those 10 harlequins to paint before today's game and I'm still pissed in the pub after a lock in, maybe I'll smash out a tank instead, sort of thing. Not tactically brilliant but at least stuff is getting done.

Option 2
If people would rather submit lists earlier then we can do that too but should possibly all post at the same time and crash the thread or submit to someone by pm or just not look at this thread again until they're submitted on a given date?

I'm not bothered either way slightly swayed with option 1 as I can see myself being in a pub or at least being busy at some point over the coming months and having to smash out a high points cost unit to make quota. Your thoughts guys?

RE submitting earlier for mgs to write objectives. Maybe round 1 could be more general if we decide on option 1. After round 1 you will know what's in the list from previous rounds.
In order to submit in advance each month could get sticky as rounds might not be completed before a hand in date?

I think he's going to be at Commisar Randy's house a bit later so we can frog march him to a computer.

Objective recieved Mr Stompa thank you, but I'm not sure Alex, Meph and Randy really want to see 'that' bit of me. Oh well, orders is orders.

My list has been fixed for weeks so I can submit when you guys are all ready.

I'm pretty hard for scrotox right now.

Hopefully see you lot later.

Yeah my list is done, we should all post them and then have a group veto if there's something that we all feel won't be fun to play against.

Yeah, sorry, your original orders were generated prior to me inhaling sufficient coffee and realizing it was near impossible with your starting forces... you still might get that one again at a later date though.

Hi Alex these look great - The DA models suit a slightly brighter scheme really well. The blood sails have come out lovely.

I'm really looking forward to seeing these little bastards on the table.

You've inspired me to start a plog myself: http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/0/634794.page#7573702

I've been working with Mephistoned to get some BA stuff done - we even sprayed a Predator red!!! He's given me permission to test paint one of his marines using a very quick process - Hopefully he will see it and be less daunted about getting things to a basic level by March:

This took minutes, however he had a hairy Space Wolf head which I took off. The only replacement I have is:

But I'm sure he won't mind!

PS I have a load of card and foamboard urban terrain I made for games over at mine. It's not very good and I'm sure you have a tonne of really good stuff yourself (if what I saw in the shop was anything to go by), but it might come in handy at some point to switch things up a bit throughout the campaign.

Good going everyone.

Your stuff is looking great, consider me subscribed (for tactical purposes only ), and I'm sure you'll be able to knock out Mephistoned's stuff for him seeing as you've only got a few suits to paint.

I've got tonnes of terrain here and also a fair amount at The Old Duke. I've been meaning to take that back as it probably needs a bit of work by now and I'd like to embellish it a little but the more the merrier. If your stuff is looking a little sad I've got tonnes of spare bits and pieces to spice it up a bit if you fancy a play+paint date to get it up to speed??

That traitor marine is looking great, glad to see shot of some of those horrible SW heads. Hope Mephi can get some done. I might be able to do a play date, I'm due a Birthday day off I've yet to cash in.

Got a few more bits to finish off here and there, how's everyone else doing?

Methuselah Soulfelcher lanquished.

It had been days since the last influx of slaves, fine wines and cured Scrotmeats had appeared from Scrotox VIII. He felt restless, or was it something else? Moreso, boredom.

For a number of years the planet had been under his dark stranglereign, there were problems daily but recently he cared not for them. At first it was the resistance of the local inhabitants, Scrot farmers mostly, to his mind, they were easily quashed and spirits were broken within the first few months of contact. Since then any uprisings had been dealt with in a manner befitting his cruel nature, he idly trailed his fingers down the length of a human skin lined corridor as he paced the rooms of his vast palace. The recent Tau activity on the planet had been a thorn in his side but, to the most part, hostilities were infrequent and easily ignored. Should it ever come to the need for all-out war then matters could be taken further. He relished the thought. Over the decades the Kabal of the Bloodied Mists had grown in number, the legacy of the Soulfelcher’s would finally come to something of worth now that his father was out of the way. He stopped for a moment to recall how satisfying it was to twist the knife as the old man’s eyes faded, the daydream soon passed.

Maybe now would be the time to stretch his iron fist, why not? With supplies running out on Scrotox and the ‘interests’ of the Tau becoming irksome why not just leave the planet as a husk and move on to bloodier pastures. Yes, that’s it, soon he would ready his troops and begin the final phase of the conformance of Scrotox VIII but for now sleep and to dream of fresh conquest.

Gentlemen, war is upon us. Ready your combat knives, flex your powerfists and don't forget to bring lots of (harlequin's) kisses (and warhugs).

Time to get some games in!

Bonus time! So hopefully we should all have 750pts painted by now (if not you've got until your first game, so get painting!), good luck with the next 250.
As an addition, this month there is a new challenge worth a whopping 3 campaign points.

Objective acquired:
All players must build and paint at least 6 objective markers

Here's a quick breakdown of the rules:
Objectives must be 1-2" diameter. If you want to go a bit larger ie 60mm then that's fine by me.
They must be able to represent 'The Scouring' and 'The Relic'.
ie 1x4vp, 2x3vp, 2x2vp, 1x1vp and include something that can be picked up/dragged or whatever as the relic.
Have fun with these, feel free to beg bits off other players and get them to paint army specific elements, make them funny of deadly serious, whatever.

Mr Stompa, we will require more orders from you on the 31st March.

Happy to host at mine whenever so BRING IT ON, gently, it's my first time (with Dark Eldar)!

Commissar Combrink was worried. There were not outward signs but the situation was going from bad to worse.

*click clank*

The landing flotilla of Higgins Assault ships had been caught in a sudden warp squall, Combrink had seen some explode, others simply cease to be and so far, only his had made the rendezvous. His pilot had effected a text book crash landing and had succeeded in only killing himself. The troops were alive but stranded miles from the capital, their objective.

*click clank*

Unable to achieve Vox contact with anyone and having no Astropath they had managed to reach the capital on their own. Once the had entered the city of Testea, a short interview with the planetary governor showed him to be a traitor. He was in talks with the filthy Tau and ready to succeed to their Empire when the Dark ones attacked, his Astropath sent the standard call from help and he set about trying to cover his tracks. Not well enough, Combrink had been smelling out traitors, cowards and mutants for years and saw through his petty facade. One bolt round to the face later and that problem was solved. Now they just had to cow the entire populace of an M class planet....

*click clank*

He cocked and fired his empty bolt pistol in an absent minded fashion. Then there was the officer commanding, Captain Steiner, his plan had been to dig in and await reinforcement instead of taking the fight to the foul xenos, his cowardice had to be remedied before it infected the ranks...

*click clank*

In extremis Commissars were taught to apply the 'Litany'

BE PURE
BE VIGILANT
BEHAVE

This was all he had now. This tiny force was all he had to destroy 2 alien factions and quell a populace that had truck with the extraterrestrial. A force that was nearly half conscripts and only a handful had been in hard fighting before. However there was a chance that other elements of his regiment would arrive sooner or later and there had been a garbled transmission that seemed to be of Space Marine origin, they could surely be their deliverance, provided they too; weren't mutants and traitors.....

*click clank*

".........Excuse me Lord......."

Combrink snapped out of his reverie and looked at the blood spattered corporal.

"Yes Corporal Jenkins?"

".........er Do you wish us to remove...well.....that...." He indicated the headless body of Captain Steiner.

"mmmmm .....................Yes please, by the way, you have command of 3rd Platoon now Lieutenant Jenkins.."

"....err Me? ...................I mean I won't let you down sir!

"Oh I know that Jenkins, I know"

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Macragge XV

Elements of the Regiment arrived so far:

Commissar Lord Combrink
Emperors Benediction (magic Bolt pistol), Power Weapon.

Priest Elton
LP, CCW

Platoon Command under Lieutenant Jenkins

Ooooohhhhhhh.

The Manta's drop bay was serene; silent save for a comfortingly familiar throb of contained destructive energy. As Shas'Vre Arg'Os C'Tau Log moved deeper toward the vessel's rear and inspected the seven battlesuits docked within, he hung on to the familiarity for there was little of it to be found elsewhere.

Arg'Os, a newly apointed 'Vre had been assigned to support the mysterious commander El Vior'Myr in what the Enclaves Council had referred to as a 'typical insurrection mission'. Arg'Os had briefed his Crisis Teams once the assignment had arrived, and without ceremony the small Cadre had boarded a Manta and it was here, staring up at what felt like the lifeless bodies of his family, he wondered if there would be anything 'typical' about this endeavour.

The Manta, Doran Elro'ch, was now orbiting B'Aul B'ag, and Arg'Os could only assume that the El's small force were alive, ensconced somewhere on the planet below. None of the transmissions sent from the Doran had received a response. Perhaps the Council has dispatched his teams too late.

Arg'Os reassured himself that whatever the fate of his new Commander, his Cadre would have a role to play on B'Aul B'ag, and as he span on his hoof and started back to his comrades in the stasis pod he came face to face with one of the Cadre's support drones.

“Beep, blop, bloooop!” The drone flitted about excitably, circling Arg'Os on an attempt to capture his attention.

“What is it L'assie? You want me to follow you?” Arg'Os replied with a tone of worn tolerance.

“Blooooooop!” The drone shot off towards the Doran's combat information centre.

Arg'Os was out of breath as he clattered into the CIC to find the Doran's serenity well and truly shattered – lights flashed, consoles chattered and warning alarms now sounded across the vessel.

“Doran, alert details, now!” shouted Arg'Os as he simultaneously depressed a stud on his coms band, alerting the rest of his Cadre and tearing them from stasis.

The Doran's central AI routed the report audio through the drone which was still orbitting Arg'Os.

“Three status alerts. ONE: Radiation signature detected. B'Aul B'ag [atmospheric level]. [Supposition] explosion. TWO: Unknown orbiting vessel detected. [Supposition] hostile. THREE: Ground units in combat. [Response logic] Deploy Crisis Teams and drone support?”

“Do it!” barked the Shas'Vre as he thundered back toward the Manta's drop bay.

As he reached the drop bay Arg'Os could already see the canopies of his two crisis teams snap shut, and the room was filled with a coordinated hiss of steam as the battlesuits re pressurised. Arg'Os threw himself into his own battlesuit and could feel the readiness of its systems even before the unit's HUD came online.

“We're aiming for Testea, the capital!” came a shout of the Cadre's coms. 'Ui Ka'Mesa had interrogated the rest of the Doran's alert data. “It's part of El Vior'Myr's unit down there – two large battlesuits, probably XV88. In combat and surrounded!”.

Soon the flow of data became meaningless, the bay hatch had opened and the Cadre were ejected into space to begin their thunderous plummit to the planet below...

One last hunt.
Methuselah woke with a start. He had no idea what may have happened from the night before but the smell of sex and sweat bore through his nostrils and into his brain. One big snort and it was slightly better, he felt the remnants of last night’s stims blast into his head once more.

His chamber was chaotic and all around him were traces of last night’s “activites”, in the far corner some guests were still fornicating. A swift kick to the ribs soon quelled that moment of passion. He staggered to his console, a pretty, ornate but somewhat grizzly monument. Laughing to himself he chopped out one more pale red line.

“Ready my craft”, the words snapped from his all too dry tongue. Within seconds the chamber was full of activity as sevant began to clear up last night’s debris.

A fine day for a hunt, given that this planet was soon to be no more….
