A friend is finishing up a couple Imperial Knights and has challenged me to be the first victim. He gave me a range of 1.5K - 2K and told me to pick a final amount. In order of the probability of what he'll field is: a Cerastus Knight-Castigator, Cerastus Knight-Acheron, Knight Errant (possibly used as Gerantius), and a Knight Paladin. 1540 would allow him to field his 4 knights at once, while 1670 would allow him to use his Errant as Gerantius. Whatever points he has left will either be filled with Inquisition, SoB, or GK.

I'm looking to get some help on crushing him.

I've been slowly building up a Necron army, but haven't had a chance to field it (and I don't think any of my friends really know about it). This seems like an opportune time to drop them. I have pretty much everything, including all the characters (I'm even in the process of making my own T. C'tan). Normally, flyer and annihilation barge spam is a popular choice when one wants to piss off their opponent, but S7 vs. 13/12/12 makes that rough. I'm thinking gauss spam and possibly Imotekh for the 6+ cover save as well as Anrakyr to take over any Knight that gets within range – although he'd either need a protective blob or barge to protect him.

Challenge him at exactly 1500 so he can only use 3 knights and fill the rest in with SoB or GK.

D-Spam with the Tran-C'tan. Transliminal Stride and two Waves of Withering. This makes for Gauss Spam scaled up to apocalyptic levels: Roll a 6 to destroy.

With your other points, take two Overlords to get two Royal Courts full of four Stormteks and one Veiltek, giving you anti vehicle turn one Deathmarks. Finish off with two units of fifteen Warriors in Night Scythes (the most who can fit) then just whatever you feel like if you have leftover. Maybe tomb blades for objective grabbing.

The T'Ctan would be devastating, but he still has a long way to go since I'm making one from scratch. Also, it somehow doesn't seem quite fair to use him in such as small point game - even though I'm going up against 3-4 super-heavies.

Lastly, can you take 2 waves of whithering? While it doesn't explicitly exclude it, I've always assumed it must have 2 different weapons.

Specifies that the more limited Tesseract Vault can't have duplicate powers, then doesn't give the restriction on the C'tan.

Honestly though, the only reason I even suggested a C'tan is because superheavy duels is about the only time I would feel justified using one. The stats do a fantastic job of representing a rampaging star god, but that makes it a little hard to find a use for without breaking things.

I guess D Spam might be a little over the top for having three chances to one shot them per turn though. Most of it's powers are crowd control though.
