All shots from a TV are to be measured from green jesus in the middle. Do the giant corners block his line of sight? This is similar to the front corner hull of a land raider blocking the sponsons line of sight. If they do block his sight lanes, how does this apply to the snow shovel, i mean hellstorm template? Do you just point it up in the air over the corners and look and see what is under it?

I'm pretty sure I was hosed last night since he measured everything from the flying stem base at a full 360 arc.

This is a bit of a "Yes and No".

By RaW, yes, the TV has a horrendous LoS issue. Which is why most TV users agree on ignoring the corners for LoS (HIWPI)

I wonder what type of "mounting" are the weapons on the TV.... they don't have any barrels.

It's easy to assume that people arguing an interpretation you disagree with are just looking for an advantage for themselves... But it's quite often not the case.

Huh? A model cannot have LOS issues with itself. There is no defineable weapon on a TV so the whole model itself is each weapon and drawing LOS from the edge of the hull is appropriate.

The profile says when a Tesseract Vault makes a Shooting attack, measure line of sight and shooting distance from the C'tan.

"Firing models can always draw line of sight through members of their own unit just as if they were not there."

So in short: He cannot block his own LoS.

Spoiler:
Power of the C’tan: When a Tesseract Vault makes shooting attacks, measure line of sight and distance from the C’tan itself.

Thanks for the correction, Changemod. So yeah, if you combine the above rule with Kangodo's rule addition, it is clear that you draw 360 degree LOS from the C'tan with no LOS blocking from itself.

Vehicles can, however. And the TV is a vehicle.

This is the main problem.

Deviantduck actually knows all of what has been concluded:
All shots from a TV are to be measured from green jesus in the middle.

So, we know "When a Tesseract Vault makes shooting attacks, measure line of sight and distance from the C’tan itself."

We know that Vehicles block their own line of sight.

Question is, how can you fit the hellstorm template through those narrow gaps, knowing you must touch the model in the center?

You said it earlier. It doesn't function RAW.

I was just addressing the two people who were incorrect in applying the rules.

I just never placed a Hellstorm Template on a TV to test it out. Maybe others could answer that part...

I also gave a HIWPI from the only guy in our area who's fielded one. I'd have to look at it more specifically next time, but first impressions was that this was not RAI.

I stand corrected, didn't know about that one.
Could you also tell us where exactly I can find that rule or maybe quote a part of it so I can ctrl-f it in my eBook?
