Can you link to Mythic RPG? I'm not sure I've heard of it?

Arcadia Quest is fun and very playable right out of the box as a group game, and I really like the minis and they're all preassembled
(I like the big head/chibi style, if you don't you might disagree)
dakka thread on Arcadia Quest, read backwards as the stuff at the start will just be about the KS & delivery but some of the stuff at the end will show you a bit of what is in it and the issues

I don't have Myth myself
but from what I've read about it the game is not so playable out of the box with a pretty confusing/poorly laid out rule book including refrences to KS only content.
(although if you can be bothered printing out a bunch of FAQs from the net these problems can be solved and leave you with a reasonably fun game).

of the two offered at a similar price point I'd go for Arcadia Quest

Ahhhhh.
Honestly, they're completely different games.
While lots of people don't like Myth because there are lots of struggle points with the rules, I think once you've sat down and played it, taking your time, there's a good game there with some really unique mechanics.
Arcadia Quest is absolutely fantastic. It's a great game for 2-4 (legitimately) that is far simpler than Myth, and is more of a beer and pretzels style game where you just have fun rolling dice and trolling your friends. It has a simple, but fun, campaign system that allows you to link together missions.
If I had to pick one, Arcadia would be the clear winner for me, as it's so much easier to play and teach. If you're willing to have some patience and want a game with a fair amount of depth, you might be better served with Myth.
But out of the box, Arcadia Quest is my winner. Pretty easily. Automatically Appended Next Post:
All my minis came pre-assembled, so I think this may be wrong, unless there some expansions that require assembly.

I was one of the kickstarter backers for Myth and was really put off by how sloppy the rules and gameplay were. The minis are really nice, and I generally liked the artwork.
A quick summary of my issues with the gameplay:
- The rulebook is slick, but missing many details (like how to set up and start a game!). I spent hours more than I should have on this game, just trying to figure out awkward wording on cards and in the rules. After their assertion in the kickstarter that rules was a major focus for them and that they were proud of how good their rules are (and after seeing that they listed their wives and a dog as one of the "editors" for the rulebook), the crappy rules became doubly frustrating. You will spend a lot of time scratching your head and reading online supplementary material.
- It's card based. Your actions are dictated (not enhanced) by the cards in your hand. I'm learning that I don't like card-driven games (I don't care for this method of introducing "fog of war" or uncertainty in your decision making). I much prefer games where you may select from a set of actions, and if there are cards, they may enhance what you do.
- It's ultimately very game-y and puzzle-like. What do I mean? You are given lots of freedom in how you set up encounters. You can choose exactly how many monsters to fight to enable you to get that perfect sweep across the room slaying all but one minion, who you have to keep alive so you can pick up the treasure before it transforms into gold rather than that awesome magic item (weird? ya. that's only one of many oddities). It allows players to game the system rather than deal with challenges (or maybe that's just part of "dealing with challenges" - setting them up to favor your hand of cards?).
I found it very disappointing.
I didn't like the chibi style of Arcadia Quest, so I didn't get it.

I play...
Sigh.
Who am I kidding? I only paint these days... |

I think cincydooley has the way of it. Arcadia for instant play and Myth if you don't mind having to piece together a good but ultimately poorly assembled rule set.
I liked the card mechanics and the minis in Myth are quite nice, but you have to go to the website to get pdf's and probably also watch Youtube vids.

Myth is an excellent game underneath the poorly written rules. My advice would be to use the manual to light a campfire, go to BGG and download the unofficial rewrite
http://boardgamegeek.com/filepage/105131/unofficial-manual-rewrite
I remember trying to read the Myth rules before it was released and scratching my head figuring I just needed to dive into it when I had the box in front of me. Still didn't make much sense. Kenny had to walk me through gameplay at Pax East last year for the lightbulb to finally go on.
When I read the rewrite, I thought what a different reception this game would have received if this was the official manual.

Arcadia Quest:
*Player VS player balanced boardgame which can be plaid in a campaign or one-and-done
*You can buy the AQ default box, never buy another model and have a complete game experience for years to come. The KS exclusives are not missed and you don't need them to have a complete game
*Has fantastic Chibi models
*The rules are simple, solid and fun.
Myth:
*Co-op story-driven RPG game
*You can buy the default MYTH box and not even play it as you don't have enough models or all the quests to play the game fully. Needs massive expansion via more models... Which is fine if you backed the KS and got all the models. Otherwise you may need to drop 400$+ to get enough models and expansions to play.
*Has fantastic styalized RPG models
*The mechanics are clunky, the game is repetitive, the rules are bad and hard to understand and have needed to be 'patched' with more patches on the way.
I backed both KS and MYTH was a huge flop and disappointment. The only thing it has going for it was the models... which you have to pay full retail for now.
