What different sorts of roles can Inquisitors fulfil with different wargear combinations? I'm fishing for ideas and inspiration, fluffy or competitve.

One I've already decided to get is:

Ordo Malleus + Terminator Armour + Nemesis Daemon Hammer + Psycannon + Servo-skulls x3 + Mastery level 1

If nothing else because I think the model will look pretty cool! (will attempt to combine Hector Rex with a GK hammer and psycannon).

They can also be psy hunters with the heretic. Nothing says die like bs and ws 10. With this edition i dont know if it goes to the unit as well.

I really like the Buff-quisitor.
It's a Xenos Inquisitor with:
-Rad Grenades
-Psychotroke Grenades
-Liber Heresius
-Servo Skulls if you are using Deep Strike.

Yeah, the times I've seen AM armies based around a big blob and Tigurius, I surprisingly don't remember seeing much of inquisitors.

My personal favorites from each ordo.
ordo malleus: power armor, brain mites, two daemon blades, 3 servo skulls grimore of true names. He will kill demons (and with good rolls, everything) dead
ordo xenos: psyker needle pistol, all the grenades, 3 servo skulls, lieber heresius. Attach to a dedicated assault squad and he is an amazing force multiplier
ordo hereticus: 3 servo skulls, power armor, pysocculum, and null rod or two combiplasmas. Attach him to a shooting squad and enjoy BS 10 against psykers

The Null Rod doesn't work well with Psyker upgrade as you can't buff your own squad and are reliant on being close to the rest of your army.
And Condemnor Boltgun is just too expensive for what it does.

One shot that may or may not hit.
If it hits it may or may not wound.
And as it has no AP the opponent may or may not fail his armor save.
And after all that the Perils of the Warp may or may not be effective, with average result being that he loses a wound.

Sure, there's a lot of what-ifs with the condemnor, but it combos OK with the psyocculum at least. Takes the 'may or may not hit' pretty much out of the equation.

Not at all, since you have to hit the psyker and he might be hidden in the squad.

Since in 7th you can take as many detachments as you like... whole army of 25 pt 3 wound grunts with 4+ armor for the lols. Failing that give every man a psycannon.
