I got my first set of flash gitz, and I have to say they are one of the coolest sets I've built.

They look cool but are they worth it on the table ? What do they bring that shoota boyz don't ?

For around 200 points you can get 10 flash gitz or 20 shoota boyz with nob pk , bp and 2 special weapons.

I don't want a cool looking unit that I wont use that often.

Any advice ? I generally run lots of walkers backed up by shoota boyz. Could the flash gitz fit into a walker list you think ?

- Neva trust a Deff Skull , gitz just wanna take yur lootz
- Only good Deff Skull iz a Ded one !

yes, they are worth it. MUCH MUCH MUCH better than shoota boyz IMHO.

They need a wagon. Ideally blitz brigade where they can get in position turn 1 and shoot using full bs.

Does it have to be either/or with the shootaboyz? I feel like having the Flashgitz and shootaboyz supporting each other is actually a better way to mitigate their low armor save than trying to shoehorn in a KFF or Painboss. Force your opponent to make a bad decision about which unit to shoot at.

I normally take 1 CAD from the Dredd mob list and 1 CAD from the normal ork list. Lets me free up heavy spots, taking dredds as troops then kans as fast.

I also plan on using both shoota boyz and gitz, just less shootas if I add gitz.

Advantages of Flash Gitz:
1) Longer Range - 24" vs 18"
2) Better AP and higher S on weapons
3) Option for a BW
3) Conditionaly better BS
Disadvantages:
1) No heavy armour options
2) Can't number more than 10, so problems with Mob Rule
I used mine once and liked them. I rolde mostly 2s and 3s on the AP, so they decimated my opponents Space marines easily. Takes a bit of luck, bot they are worth it.

I will often take a unit of 5 or 10 Flash Gitz vs my PA opponent, prop em in good cover or in a wagon and let loose on the closest target.
Even if you don't get a low AP roll then the amount of gunfire will cause a few casualties

I would say that shoota boyz are probably more resilient (point for point) than flash gitz are due to numbers and the gitz' lack of 'eavy armour options. Gitz can certainly fight in close combat to finish someone off after a round of dakka, but really that's the doomsday option as you don't want to expose them to return fire. On the other hand, they are well equipped for such tactics due to their gitfinders and far superior guns. Even if they roll badly for AP, they will probably do reasonable damage to heavy infantry through the sheer number of wounds.

They do tend to get targeted first, so be ready to lose them turn 2 or 3. I would say small units probably work best for them for providing a decent distraction for your dreads and such to get closer and occasionally being able to lay waste to a unit before they die. Overall though I think they are a good psychological tool you can use against your opponent, which can be a big part of the game.

Plan is to try them out in a truck and try and infaltrate them with the strategic warlord table to get a good firing position 1st turn.

Yup, they're fragile for the cost, and so need protection - a wagon (a trukk's too flimsy, IMHO) or a nice thick barricade if you don't mind them being stuck in one place.

Hmm, I wonder too about inter-unit synergy, e.g. would they do better with a cheap meat-shield unit of shoota boyz in front?
