You really think interceptors are the best choice here?

I'd say scrap em, reduce your term squad
put their points into a stormraven or land raider and put strern with some purifiers inside or just take a knight paladin if you want to be cheesy.

Not a fan of razorbacks ether - take a rhino and another marine - I think it's better.

Waiting for my shill money from Spiral Arm Studios

The Strike squad and Razorback seem out of place. Maybe drop them for a Stormraven.

I don't like Interceptor squads anymore, not since the nerf to psycannons but thats more personal taste.

Interceptor squads are great with flamers for taking out guard / orks / squishy things that shoot. Also your opponent has to play around them. Plus you can combat squad everything here.

If you run a Nemesis Strike Force - you only need one troop.

Why Stern and not a librarian level 3 for invisibility?

I agree though. Storm Raven is needed. Razorbacks are too flimsy to dump the points into. If you are running a Storm Raven.

Stern because I have an attachment to him. That's my flavor. And I love Guaranteed Sanctuary and being great in combat.

A StormRaven, not getting too low on model count?

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Last few test runs, the strikes just dropped and flamed something easy to kill while the Razor stayed back on an objective and shot at armor.

Not overly attached though.

I've found reducing model count is the best way to play GK lol. If you've got over 15 modles something is wrong.

I'd move the hammers off your justicars and into the squad, that way they don't get called out in challenges and instagibbed by force swords.

Agreed, already changed that but forgot to here.

No - if you remove the strike squad - you can replace them with purifiers - thats the reason to reduce to 1 troop choice with the Nemesis Strike Force. Purifiers in a Rhino vs a Razorback - because you are going to be bum-rushing their line and popping smoke to get there anyway. Plus you can take more heavy weapons if you want to - and combat squadded you bring 4 additional psyker points.

I can get a 5 man purifer squad with two incinerators a hammer and a teleport homer in a rhino for 10 points cheaper than strikes and the razor...but i do lose deepstrike.

Going with the purifiers...I basically lose a lascannon and deepstrike shananigan for much more anti infantry killing power.

Updated.

My buddy is coming with a list that's a hard counter for me.

Tigurius with Grav Cents in a SW Pod and 4 TWolves with an Iron Priest

FIlled in with Grey Hunters Rhino, Blood Claws Razor, Tacticals and whatever else that is less important.

Any tips on killing Invisible Cents? Before they lay waste to my Termies, Knight, and DK?

You must fly to beat that list. A decked out storm raven. With something ready to drop on them when they lose invis. Invis will fail at least once.

I'm not sure on this but I think a Knight Errant would be able to beat down that Centstar in melee since they have no way to get out of combat. Your stomp attacks will ignore the invisibility.

I didn't even think about Stomp, my only solution was to try and get a charge off with the DK.

Basically, present a double Threat with DreadKnight and Errant...one dies and one locks up combat.

Interceptors with flamers are the way to go if you use interceptors.

I wouldn't waste the DK on them. Deep Strike everything that can Deep Strike and let him go first. Keep the Purifiers close to your Errant. Let him go first if you get a choice. It'll force him to deploy the cents near your Errant so you don't need to sacrifice a unit to get into melee with them (don't forget the FAQ for IKs makes move through cover better for them).

Then Deep Strike in their backfield to crush the little rest of his army with the DK and Termies.

Also, if the IK locks the centstar in combat, then you can use Cleansing Flame with the Purifiers from outside of combat to hit the Centstar.

I ended up taking 2nd place.

First and second rounds I was facing some easy matchups.

Hodgepodge Tyranids...fantastic matchup for grey knights but literally too many units for my few units to kill. Objective game, we tied objectives and I won by first blood.
Sidenote: Stern having a built in Stubborn bubble is fantastic for Shadow.

Second game, Dark Angels...once again, easy matchup for Grey Knights, just swept through bikes and power armor, Knight handled the Termies.

Third game
Weirdest game of my life.

Faced Grey Knights and Red Scorpions?

His list was 5 GKT, 5 Tacticals, 10 Purifiers in a Rhino, a DreadKnight, and a unit composed of Sevrin Loth, Super GK Libby, Draigo, and 5 Grav Centurions

It was purge and his list had a total of 10 KP and mine had 7.

I got first turn-HUGE. Then during deployment we basically, we stayed in the corners of the board (via Vanguard) I was able to pop his Rhino and kill a combat squad of purifiers in turn 1...2 KP and First Blood. Basically my first turn. He rolls up psychic powers and gets Invisibility and prescience up from the Grav Cents in the back corner...I deny Gate-HUGE

Second Turn, I kill a few more marines with my Dreadknight and Errant...GKTs move around slighty (They get Sanctuary off)...spreading out to charge anything that tries to come close...dreadknight or cents. He gets Invisibility and Gate off and jumps to kill the errant...thanks to the ion shield...only 2 hull points lost.

I stubber the cents and melta a few more marines (only thing i can see is fearless purifiers...so they're fine)...GKTs (Stern himself) takes a wound off the dreadknight in shooting, too far to charge Knight charges the cents...does nothing at initiative...draigo and hammer libby dont even glance...got a triple stomp off...only one cent takes a wound. He manages to gate out of combat, his termies dreadknight and grav cents all shoot at the Errant (1 HP left)

I stubber the cents, melta some marines and charge again, attacks do nothing (Invisibility) and his attacks do nothing back, stomp places over the Libby, a full wound cent and Draigo...rolls a 6 and they're removed-HUGE...I win combat by 7, he rolls a 4 on LD and runs 9 inches and runs off the board. He wants retaliation and shoots everything at the Errant...it manages to survive. He charges in with the Dreadknight and they finish each other off.

GAME OVER...I have killed 7 KP and he needs to table me to win I have a full squad of Termies with Stern, 10 Interceptors and 5 Purifiers in a Rhino vs his handfull of marines and 5 termies.

He only killed the Dreadknight (I forget when) and the Errant

Hah cool. Thanks for posting the results. I'm glad Stomp worked out for you against the deathstar! That was a huge kill it made there at the end.
