I didn't really take to arma 3 when it first came out but this has my full attention. It's got the warm fuzzy familiarity that comes with charnarus (same map as dayz) and it packs the nicer graphical improvements tof arma 3.

If you haven't played wasteland on arma 2, it's basically lone or team survival vs ai and other players. You scavange weapons, vehicles and base parts. I like this a lot more than dayz as its easier on the teamwork side of things. They day/night cycle is a bit rushed but night time is adequately punishing if you lack nvg's. The base building is pretty awesome, spent the better part of a saturday building an incognito base in a factory complex outside of lapatino, also managed to do an oil-rig style base off the coast.

The other new thing it brings to arma 3 is a really amazing weapons pack. One of the other downsides of arma 3 for me was the weaponry took some warming up to, this weapon pack adds a lot of familiar real world weapons, ak's, armalite's, G3's, fal's, basically a lot of great weapons from arma 2. Another great feature is you can shoot from the back of pickup trucks and supply trucks, if someone's tailing you it's really nice to be able to take a tire or two out.

Anyway, here's some of the better screenshots. If you've got arma 3, here's a link to the mod's forums, all the download info is there.

Do you play 30k? It'd be a lot cooler if you did.

I never liked Arma 3.
Arma 2 was awesome, but 3 just felt lacking. It has a large price tag for what is only a marginal upgrade to Arma 2.

I'm right there with ya man, I uninstalled arma 3 for the longest time until my buddy told me about this. It's the only thing redeeming arma 3.
