Played a game as AM vs BA, and a few situations occured that we were uncertain about. Was wondering if Dakka could give us some pointers

1: Cover Save. BA targets a unit inside the void shield area. That unit has a coversave due to terrain. Will the AM unit get the coversave before the void shield takes affect, or is it disallowed because the attack hits the shield first?

2: Template vs Void Shield. BA Dreadnaught targets a AM veteran squad and the template generates 10 hits. The Void Shield has only 1 charge left and the template removes it on a "6". Do you roll 1 die at a time until shield is removed, and the rest goes to the infantry? Or must all damage rolls resolve vs shield?

3. One other thing we wondered about that doesn't have anything to do wiith the voidshield. Would an item carried by a character work on units outside the transport if it's embarked on a transport? My CCS was carrying Kurov's Aquilla that grants Prefered Enemy to all units within 6".

Cheers

1.: Shield is hit first, cover save is irrelevant.

2: resolve the hits one at a time against the shield, once it falls, the remainder resolve against the infantry.

3.: Mostly yes, unless if specifies otherwise. Does vary.. would need exact wording.

I thought void shields had a rule where blasts would only cause dmg to the shields and not the unit targeted.

Might be pulling that out my ass though.

You don't have to be happy when you lose, just don't make winning the condition of your happiness.

Blast yes (though people will argue otherwise) but a flamer is a template.

Templates and Blasts will only do a single hit on the shield, despite the number of hits caused.

See the Stronghold FAQ.

Ah yes, the faq makes flamers and blasts one hit only.
