The grey knights lord of war, I like a lot of other grey knight players remever using draigo back in 5th with a bunch of paladins as troops and cotez for that Death Star effect. I feel now with how the meta and pricing of things went that isn't really the way to go so much because of certain things like how we MUST bring another hq choice, not to mention paladins not being able to be troops anymore. I have seen a lot of the "cent star" list with draigo porting the space marine centurions around the table, then beating up what ever charges them. Is this what you fellow grey knight players think our best bet is with our cc tank draigo? Or what does everyone think the most competitive way to run driago in say an 1850 list would be?

My first thoughts are just putting him with a lvl 3 Libby, group of terminators andgoing for invisibility but that seems shaky against a lot of stuff to me. So I'd love to get a bunch of ideas from everyone and hopefully learn some new crazy idea I haven't thought of!

Do a ten man pally list, with one librarian level 3, naked strike squad, ally ultramarines, take to various, sniper scouts, spartan assault tank, and two dread knights with teleporters, incinerators, psycannons, and great swords. Tiggy goes for invis, and the Libby rolls on div, hoping for either ignore cover or 4++. I think you can fit in stern for sanctuary, too. 16 psycannon shots are still really good. Or, instead of the librarian, you can take a brand master with a psycannon (would haveto cut points elsewhere) and have 20 twin linked psycannon shots a turn due to prescience.

Don't waste points on the Strike Squad, you'd basically be playing 100pts down. Spend a few points and get a unit of 5 GKT that will at least actually contribute to the game beyond just holding an objective.

You have to cut points somewhere, that is where I cut mine. I'd rather have mobile dread knights than a small unit of terminators that have zero support. I'd rather play 110 pts down than 165.

Draigo is a 240+ point transport that moves an attached unit and any ICs around the table while absorbing wounds and wrecking things in CC, which makes him a steal.

As to Paladins, they are a huge points sink for little flexibility. I prefer GKT over Pallies + Strikers. With GKT, you can still afford NDKs.

And always take the Libby.

You can't fit all those things in an 1850 army anyways, Terminators or not. Draigo, Librarian, 10 Paladins, Tigirus, 5 Scouts, 2 Dreadknights, and 5 GKSS is about 1850. No Spartan Assault Tank, no Stern, etc. You have one deathstar, plus two useless scoring units. Your opponent will just avoid you and eat up your shooting and grab objectives. It's not like the GKSS and Scouts will last long compared to Terminators either. You'll be great at killpoints, though.

Why you not make another gk netlist?

What if you did something that looked like,

5 paladins
2 psy cannons
Apothecary

2 brother captains
Both have a psy cannon

Ally in an inquisitor with a psy cannon

Then throw draigo in to teleport around... I highly doubt this could be effect but it gives you 20 psy cannon shots, a lot of psycic abilities along with driago teleporting. Hahah seems kinda over the top!

5x Paladins (2x Psycannon + Apothecary)
Librarian lvl 3 w/ DLD
Stern

925pts and is my go-to starting point. A good psychic phase teleports you with Draigo tanking on a 2+/2++/5+++, Libby fishes Invis and uses the DLD for an extra spell out of Santic and secures casts of Sanctuary and Gate.

Hmmm, I like this a lot. Using sanctuary for that 2 up invulnerable. Sounds rough!
