Eldar Titan Holo-Fields

"...Before making an armour penetration roll or rolling on the Destroyer Weapon Attack table for attacks against this model, the attacker must roll a D6 to see if the attack hit the target or a holo-field image." - Apocalypse 2013

Vindicare Assassin has Precision Shot

"Wounds from Precision Shots are allocated against a model (or models) of your choice in the target unit, as long as it is in range and line of sight of the firer." - 7th Ed. BRB

So why can't I choose to hit the model, and not the holo-field image?

Because Precision Shot has nothing to do with bypassing Holo-Fields?

The rules don't interact at all.

Holo Fields state that you roll a d6 to see if you hit the target or something else.
Precision shot state you choose what you hit, no allocation (random or otherwise)

I find them interacting quite well.

Because the holo field image is a trait of the model you have targetted. It isnt a second invisible model that you can choose to ignore it is essentially an aspect of the one you are shooting

Holo-fields do not say "roll a d6 to see if you hit the target or nothing at all". It states that you hit the target, or the holo-field image, thereby giving a 2nd target (albeit one you cannot preferentially hit on it's own). The aspect of the target as you say thereby creates the secondary option denoted by the die roll; ie it becomes random allocation - the target, or the holo field. As precision shots allow the firer to choose your target irrespective of allocation, it is the fact that the holo field rules themselves create the random allocation which is then bypassed by precision shots.

Incorrect. Precision Shots allow you to allocate against whatever model you want.
The Titan is still a model so feel free to allocate to that model all you want. And then before you roll for armor pen (after allocating) you roll for the HoloField.

You're confusing fluff with rules.

This, the holofield is not allocating your hit anywhere else, this isn't a LOS! or some similar mechanic... its like saying precision shot lets you not hit an invuln but instead hit the model.... which would be silly and wrong.

Lol. One of those things I want so bad for my assassin, and I so don't want to see it across the table.

Can I just point out that since you don't roll to wound the titan, precision shot does nothing...
