It was also interesting that they really didn't get into the server issue until there really wasn't much of an opportunity for the Democratic members to ask what that has to do with Benghazi.

Guys, we may disagree with Whembly, but there's no need to make fun of or insult him. Besides, he played Ravenwing before the new codex made it amazeballs, so he's clearly not a bad guy.

Just out of curiosity, why is your vitriol over this aimed solely at Hillary? You do realize that, in general, she isn't the one who leaked classified material onto an unapproved server; it was everyone else that sent it to her that did the leaking.
She does bear responsibility for not realizing that the server was not an approved system for storing classified material and taking corrective action.
Because hers is the only name that I am aware of atm. I have said on this very forum that ANYONE, regardless of political party, that knowingly leaks classified information should have their clearance revoked. In Clinton's case she holds more responsibility in my opinion because it was her server. But beyond that she is as guilty as anyone else who sent her classified documents to her unclassified network.
When the Snowden BS happened it became almost impossible to move documents from TS networks to Secret networks and vice versa. I am not saying Hillary is 1/10000th as bad as snowden so don't get uppity, but i hope you get the gist.

Mr. Gowdy, I believe, has inadvertently removed Benghazi and Clintons email server as a potential "big win" campaign issue in the General election. If she can remain unscathed through 11 hours of hearings from a very hostile committee, it's hard to imagine she'll fold in 5 minute interviews or s debate where she may field one or two questions on the subject.
And I bet she gets a nice bump in the primary polls.

I agree with the sentiment, having a different opinion does not make him a bad fellow.
Instead, let his rampant intellectual dishonesty be the justification for your scorn.

Indeed - 15 points from Slytherin. I think ultimately they may have bumped Hillary's approval rating; with spending so much time on stuff that is so clearly not at all related to Benghazi.

Sigh... aaaaaand the Watergate Ctte, Iran-Contra weren't political? This is Congress.
The difference, of course, is that Watergate and Iran-Contra involved illegal behavior from the beginning, while the Benghazi investigation only tangentially led to the Clinton email scandal.
We've had 8 investigations, the number of hearings is much higher as any given investigation will include numerous hearings. It is the number of investigations which marks the Benghazi matter as a politically motivated witch hunt.
To my knowledge there was only a single investigation regarding the nature of pre-invasion intelligence. I don't know how many hearings it involved, but 77 seems reasonable.

This is what hurts me the most.
I'm not a HIllary fan, at all. I would *strongly* prefer to vote for another candidate, but it seems she's got the democratic nomination sewn up, which leaves the Republicans, but they're just so far off the rails that you just look at it all and go "really, you're gonna make me do this?"
It's like when I lived in California and the absolute last thing I wanted to do was vote for Boxer for senate, and what did the Republicans give me as an alternative? ...Carly Fiorina. I wasn't actually able to bring myself to vote for Boxer, but I voted third party which effectively was voting by proxy for Boxer.
The Republicans of late just have this magical gift of making themselves so unattractive that you're force to vote for their opposition no matter how much you otherwise just don't want to

I'm not insulting Whembly. In fact, I rather like Whembly and we've had some nice conversations outside of politics. I also know he won't take that jab personally because he knows I'm just busting his balls.

I feel the same way about the more than likely situation we're probably going to face in the general election. I've also considered voting for a third party, but...

I'm in favor of voting for a third party in principle. If you can find a third party putting up a Presidential nominee, that represents your interests and opinions, I think you should vote for them, especially if you live in a state like California that is already in the bag for whomever the Democrats nominate. I personally live in a state that is now in the bag for the Republicans, so I dont mind laying down protest votes when I feel its necessary. The big problem is every third party that ends up with a presidential nominee is a joke, IME.
It's really only if and when the GOP nominates someone who might actually be dangerous for the country, like a Trump or a Cruz (or perhaps a Carson, the more I read about him) that I think its appropriate to start issuing "A vote for a third party is a vote for X" statements. For the time being, I am going to give Republican voters the benefit of the doubt and assume they will nominate a candidate who is fit in some way to be President.

Like I said, im still hoping the FBI nails her and sends her to prison for 10 years, I think that would both be hilarious and be a great reminder to politicians to NOT LEAK CLASSIFIED MATERIAL. (Dems and Repubs)
How hard is it to go hire an SSO or god forbid use ones that are already in Washington in another capacity to ensure that classified material doesn't get leaked?

Now we shall wait with baited breath for the various blogs to interpret this so that others can tell us how Hillary lied and betrayed us all.
Don't worry, Whembly will be along shortly to explain it too us in his usual completely unbiased and fair tone. All with a healthy amount of yellow text, no doubt.
Will there be a "mic drop"? Will there be a "schadenboner"? Will that yellow text be italicized and underlined? Tune in tomorrow, after there was time to harvest the rich crop that Twitter and the derp-o-sphere shart out tonight!
heh... you guys are on a roll.

Although, I think Rubio/Haley is a much better ticket.
The news on Fiorina is her inability to capitalize on her debate performance... doesn't bode well on her campaign.
Nikki Haley, on the other hand, is term-limited as Governor of South Carolina.
As Clinton being the eventual Democrat candidate... strategically speaking, you'd have to blunt the gender politics a bit and get a woman on the ticket.

Well, it means that there is sufficient amount of information available to warrant an investigation.
Or it could mean that there was sufficient political pressure alongside of information that an investigation is considered warranted, if only to clear the perception of wrongdoing.
So please keep your snotty comments to yourself
