This model is a tribute to the struggle if mankind

My goal was to capture the grief and rugged will of just surviving a skirmish

(Part of my first paint series- I wasn't shaving molding lines off..oops.)

*i believe it is important to have a clear concept of:
1-body position and dynamic
2-attitude of model
3-emphasis of color/action
Prior to assembling a model.
-- I strive to develop a color theory that is subtle
yet varies in tonality.

1- I chose a forward lean to instill a feeling of advancing movement

2- I wanted the figure to appear fatigued yet rugged and angry,
Therefore I angled his weapon downward to appear as though
he is exhausted. Further more I chose the strapless chin face
for it's smug expression as well as to emphasize his
exhaustion.

3- I wanted the blood and his expression to be the story.
leaving the rear exposed to accent uniform highlights and sculpt.

What happened? Did someone in front of him explode?
The blood looks too uniform, honestly.

Among many other horrors... As I stated. I believe in subtleties. Perhaps you can show me an example of blood that is that not "uniform".

Agreed.

To be honest, when I first saw the images, I thought someone was shining a red light on the guardsman. Looks more like a glow effect than blood to me.

Blood tends to form pools. It does not evenly dry with identical texture all over everything.
Your "blood" looks like OSL or red dust.
