So, my first box of Boyz are coming in this monday! What load-out is the best for them? I don't have a ny extra Ork Bitz, so I'll only be able to use the parts from the box.

Mostly anti-MEQ, I'll have 'em in a Trukk.

If it's anti MEQ you're looking for then I would equip them all with a slugga & choppa, upgrade one Boy to be Boss Nob and give him a bosspole and a powerklaw. The Trukk should have a reinforced ram on it and I prefer the rokkit launcha to the big shoota on Trukks.

At a 10 man squad, I like making them ard boyz. Then just slugga and choppa and a pk nob.

I would go for nob power klaw boss pole, with a truck if your going to limit yourself to 10 boyz, stick a ram on it and a rockit in the boyz squad if you feel so inclined. You dont have to put the extra rockit in there, but it can be a useful random kill which will make up for its points thrice fold if it works.

Why does everyone think trukk capacity is only 10?

It's 12. Not a huge difference, but I see people mention it so much.. it's really jarring.

If they're gona be in a truck, i'd go with 'ard boyz + PK/BP nob. They could also be accompanied by a slotless mek to eat challenges when needed.
Truck needs a ram.

The unit clocks around 200 pts - not cheap but they're worth it if you manage to use them correctly. I always field such unit in my footsloggas and am happy with results. I don't take special weapons for truckboyz. Yep, a rokkit might happen to be handy but you'll have to either turboboost or run + charge more often than not with such squad. So, a special weapon, albeit such cheeap, is very situational and unreliable.

You could also equip a nob with combi-skorcha. Situational and not cheap but awesome when time arises. But generally, they'll do fine without any special gear other than pk+bp for nob.

IMHO you should buy another box to double the squad size.

Boyz really need numbers to realise their full potential. Trukk boyz with 'eavy armour and nob with power klaw are not terrible, but you can get a squad of meganobz in a trukk, with a lot more killing power, for considerably less points.

I take a 20 man squad of slugga boyz and a Warboss with da lukky stikk in a battlewagon. They make elite infantry cry

This is your first box after all, so I'd skip 'eavy armor for the time being. Plan ahead and outfit them so they fit in nicely with the rest of the horde when it inevitably grows. The current preferred loadout is sluggas and choppas, but I'm still somewhat attached to shootas despite the points increase, if only because 40 S4 shots in overwatch will make anyone think twice before charging them. A nob with klaw and pole is always good to have. As for the special weapon, some take big shootas, some take rokkits, some take nothing at all.

Whatever you choose, ten boyz will probably underperform. But don't worry, they're but the first step towards a horde good and proppa. Good luck!

I thought the current consensus was in favour of shootas over sluggas. Fair enough. Shoota boyz are awesomely versatile, bug slugga boyz with DLS are INSANE.

Personally, I wouldn't bother with rokkits on boyz squads. I think it's one of those deas that sounds better on paper (i.e. "ZOMG I can get 27 rokkits because they're so cheap"). I just don't think they do much, against their intended targets, that boyz with a power klaw nob couldn't deal with anyway. I like rokkits, but like all ork weapons, they need to be concentrated to work effectively. Leave them for your vehicles.

I like truckboyz more than meganobz for 2 reasons. They're troops => obsec + obsec truck. And they can run.
Manz are great too but they actually give worthy targets for ap2 enemy weapons.

Get a trukk, some nobz, and some moar boyz.

i know limit is 12 but he is getting 1 pack of boyz so stop spazzing out

Moar trukkz, moar boyz, moar mayhem!

I had some success with an ork squad of 9 ard boys with shootas with a boss with bosspole, TL shoota and Big choppa. not the flashiest but can put the pain on anything with the charge and tie up most things. Plus it's pretty fun.
