So I have just started a Mordheim Campaign.

Its got an odd mix of:

Lizardmen
Undead
Norse
Pirates
Wood Elves
Shadow Elves

So we are splitting them into teams of evil vs good with neutrals filling in the gaps.

More info here http://theimperialpatrol.blogspot.co.nz/2015/01/mordheim-start-of-campaign.html

We are using the Lustria rules which seem a bit harsh but a lot of fun.

So any advice?

What do you guys do to spice it up?

Nice. A bit more details about each mission would be cool.

Yea I will from now on.

Its really hot down here at the moment so honestly its just so hard to write while boiling.

But its raining so maybe things will cool down a bit. Ill do a proper style battle report for the match in a few days

Cheers

Very neat, man! We're starting a campaign in Mordheim proper right about now as well. I'll be interested in following your group to see if our experiences parallel at all.

Cool, let me know how yours go too!

Handy tip, have lots of terrain! We didnt have enough for 3 of our games. Lack of terrain limits the cool things happening lick roof top warfare and climbing etc.

Thanks for the tip. The shop that we play at actually has a lot of terrain on hand, so if we're there on a night where there aren't many games going on, we should have plenty to go around. I'm planning on getting a collection together myself, as well.

Yea im trying to do the same, have heaps of terrain for the other games, but mordheim needs some extra attention I think.

What warbands are you guys using?

I've fielded witch hunters and dwarves.

My witch hunters snipe with crossbows while my war hounds do cc damage. My dwarves charge head first with my pistol wielding noble (he has -1 movement injury, so I'm relying ont he engineer buffing his pistol range) and slayers. The rest sit and snipe.

The problem I have with ranged is you have to shoot the closest model, which means with a meat shields set up you can be near immune to serious losses from ranged units.

Not if you're elevated, or if you manage to knock down the nearest model. The speed of the war hounds allow me to engage on my terms, and the dwarves are so tough that the enemy bows are almost useless.

Ah yes, in the jungle trees and rocks are the only elevation and they aren't used to often. But yea you are right.

Knock em down and feed on em.

I like poisons for that very reason, they make it that bit easier to score wounds on the tough units.

In our campaign so far we have a Witch Hunter warband (mine), and two Mercenary warbands (Marianburg and Miragliano). We have a fourth player who is flirting with the idea of an Undead warband, and another part-timer who will probably end up using Skaven.

undead is great for mordheim, they have the ability to use enemy heroes in their warband as zombies if they die.

We are all waiting for the first heroes to die so we can use him as a super zombie haha.

Sounds like a good match up.
