Just for grins I looked at some of my old codexes. The SB/sword sarge was the right gear for use in a terminator assault squad in 3rd edition. Which surprised me. In 4th, the sarge starts with either 2xLC or TH/SS, but has the option to take items for the armory, so you could buy him the SB/sword, but would be a little bit crazy to do so. 5th and 6th codexs are just the assault options.

For the longest time I only had 3 old RT-era (ish) assault terminators. It wasn’t until sometime in 4th I found the last two I needed to fill out the squad.

Oh, what utter Bullocks! - RT Era Jet Bikes

todays arrivals are something I am very pleased with, today I am now the proud owner of a set of bullocks! Bullock jet bikes that is. I have manged to source three of these bad boys in the two patterns they were made and whilst compared to the current FW ones they are tiny they are perfectly in keeping with the RT era.

more pics and info on the blog as always here:

I remember that Terminator article in WD. "Thunder and Lightning". Funny how pretty much all of the Terminator-only weapons of the RT era have become almost standard gear for PA marines and even Imperial Guard these days. Just Chainfists, Assault Cannon and Cyclones left, I think?

Nice find on the old Bullocks. I had a few of them in the day, but honestly I couldn't stand the models even then.

Now you'll need to get the Space Marine Riding Lizards (yes, really), Vincent Black Shadows (with and without sidecars) - and the second revision of them - and a long-leg Dread or two,

This week has seen the motorpool for my RT era marines increase by a few vehicles, including one of the first conversions any 90s marine player will remember fondly.

The herd has increased and some actual modelling has taken place as you can see. first up a herd of rhinos to pave the way:

next up a whirlwind, some actual work took place to make this so am quite please with the results:

as always though more info etc here:

The Discoveries of Arkhan Land

So folks time for the final post of the RT purchases and today it is the purchases I am really happy with. Today we explore the discoveries of Arkhan Land! The Land raider and speed though all the editions have been two of my favourite models.

The FW MKIIB conversion mixing the current plastic with the old epic plastic raider is one of my favourite models of all time, but the new re-imaginings of the MKIs from FW have just blown me away, so when the opportunity arose to acquire one for this army I couldn't resist, and got three!

The Land speeder is also a favourite, right back from when they were just two lawn chairs bolted to an engine to the current trainer looking version I love the models and the idea behind them.

As you can see the motor pool has taken a massive increase this week with the Land family joining the mix and adding some heavy punch to the line up.

Over the next couple of weeks real life is due to be busy but there will be a background hum of progress at Maison Millest as things are stripped, assembled, sprayed and generally sorted out! In the mean time I will be posting up some of the various RT artwork, box art and conversion guides I have acquired in my spare time for inspiration to help anyone out that might need it.

One finally request does anyone know of the best KR multicase foam options for this entire for? looking to have it in one box, though maybe waiting til its completed might work better as I can then see what options are best. Any advice or suggestions would be great though.

As usual more pics and details are on the blog

I’ve been spending a lot of time over on KR’s page this week, I should look into getting commissions. Here is my blog post when I got my KR case There are some relevant pictures there.

All the foot troops/terminators/etc should fit fine into the basic 1/4 deep trays. Which ones to use depends a lot on the dynamism of the poses. While the old RT rhinos are smaller then the modern ones, if you have the spikes on the front, they are longer. And that makes them fit poorly into the KR rhino slot. Now, KR’s foam is soft, so it will squish down and not damage the mini. Probably; mine hasn’t broken off yet. If you are concerned, you might be better of going with pluck foam, or maybe the vindicator slot. Not sure about how those options would work, as I don’t have those trays to test.

The LRs are also going to be problematic. I own both a modern and RT LR, but the old guy took a melta hit on the back shelf of my car on a hot summer day, so is a little rough to use for comparisons. The width is about the same, but the hight is off. The new LR fits in a 2/3 hight tray, but the RT would probably require 3/4, or even if full tray, depending in what you have on top. While shorter then the new ones, I think you are still going to be stuck with one per half box. The would be a little space left over for other things though. I just put my old LR in the tray for my new LR, and it fit, although it stuck out on top. The TLLCs, which are notoriously fragile, might need a little more room. Hard to tell, as mine have been detached for decades. But in addition to the LR, the tray also has space for two dreadnoughts, which could also be put to good use.

cheers nevelon, im considering actually going up to their factory and taking this lot with me, I know the offer good service as they have on all the other cases ive bought so thought if I took it up we could look at the best options for getting this lot in to one of their metal cases - need to protect these beauties. thanks for the suggestions something I might have to consider rather than lugging it all up there
