Subject: Destroyer Cult as primary detachement and command benefits

Hey friendos:
If taken as your primary detachement, does the destroyer cult gain the command benefits from the decurion (+1 to RP; but not Relentless around the overlord) without utilizing the reclamation legion.
In the introduction to the decurion in the necron codex 015 it says: "Although units cannot normally belong to more than one detachment, units from a formation that is part of a Necron Decurion Detachment are an exception. They count as part of both their formation and the detachment, and have all associated command benefits and special rules. If your warlord is part of a formation or an army list entry that makes up part of a decurion detachment, that entire decurion detachment is your primary detachment."
The last sentence is the one that interests me the most - you can read it as if you get the bonus because you are a decurion and a decurion gains + 1 to RP.
I think the wording is quite unclear and interesting.

No, the Decurion requires a 1+ Reclamation Legion, without which you are just using the Destroyer Cult as a stand alone formation.

As above.
Unless you comply with the requirements of the Dwecurion, you are NOT using a decurion, just the individual components of it.

The tricky point is the "that makes up part of a decurion detachment". Imo this refers to actually beeing part of a decurion detachment and not the possibility to be part of one (or in other words beeing part of the blue print of the decurion formation = beeing an Auxillary formation). So you have to look at the formation you have in your list and decide whether its part of an actual decurion detachment. This simply allowes you to run a destroyer lord as your war lord and still having the whole decurion detachment as your primary detachment. Otherwise you would end with an inconsistent state where your single destroyer cult is your primary detachment AND is also part of another detachment (the decurion detachment) as of the rules for the decurion detachment. Same applys if you use one of the characters from a Roayl Court as your war lord.

Ok I have a follow up question if anyone knows the answer. If I take the decurion with a destroyer cult does my Warlord have to be from the reclamation legion or can it be the destroyer lord from the destroyer cult?

There's nothing to state that your Warlord must be selected from your Core formation (Reclamation Legion). My take is your Warlord can come from your Destroyer Cult within a Decurion.

Any character in your army can be the Warlord.
So yes, the Destroyer Lord can be the warlord and he can even re-roll his Warlord trait.
