Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen,
I dislike the way the Eldar Jetbike heads look.
Originally I was looking at kitbashing Eldar Rangers and Jetbikes; however, Finecast seems way too difficult to work with.
As a compromise I was thinking I could scratch away at the heads with a knife to make them look less like the KKK, do you think that would work out?
How do you recommend going about this? Thank you in advance.

Um I don't really see how I'm gonna tackle this post.
Finecast is fine to work with as long you have a good superglue. I've done a autarch conversion with a ranger feel to him, and he used a mixture of plastic and finecast. Personally, I think he looks pretty beast.
I might try your suggestion as see if it works. Hope this helps.

Have you heard of Spellcrow? They're a European company and have some really great conversion bits. Specifically their space elf bike pilots and space elf helmets.
I've used them and they're pretty good. Not sure on shipping to USA.

I say just wait for the new Harlequin jet bikes to release, then cut off all the Harlequin-y bits, add a Guardian torso to the legs, and bingo, sweet lookin CW bike.

I decided to just scratch away at the head, it turned out pretty well and has a subtle effect.
Army wise I'll just use a squad of rangers for back-field objectives and the squad of jetbikes for late-game objectives or Linebreaker.

I'm not quite sure what you mean. If you decapitate the Eldar Jetbikes, they may no longer have the goofy helmets... but then they will look like the Eldar headless horsemen?
I must be misunderstanding something Instead of kitbashing Rangers, if you don't want to do that (which is darn expensive, anyhow) maybe you could use plastic bits from another kit. You could even get away with Dark Eldar heads (the ones with no helmet).

He/she means that they'll shorten/round off the rather conical helmets, not cut them off completely.

Oh, I see. Eldar Tophats!
Personally, I think they got it right when they did dark eldar heads. I hope when GW re-sculpts Eldar, we get some epic models.
