Try blinding him. DA have tons of blinding weapons and wargear, more than just about any other army in the game. He has lousy initiative so blinding is probably going to be effective. Then stasis grenades or DWK in smite mode. You can run 3x DW LR crusaders with the dakka pole stuck inside one and get the same firepower as the ravenwing squads and keep your DW theme. Might also try the Librarius formation to have a librarian get off a boosted Mind Worm against the Spider.

I'd focus on blind weapons. They are a gimmick that can really dick him over with his I2. I don't know the spider's leadership but boosted mind worm can really ruin your whole day.

Do you not hit chariots on their rear armour in CC? Barge is only rear armour 11 even with the shields up.

No chariot's are hit on the front and use the characters WS for the hit roll in CC.

everyone has pretty good advice here. It seems to me that you threw your scissors at his rock, if you get what I mean. I recommend investing in a sternguard squad or other good shooty unit.

You don't in 7ed. You hit them on front armor like a walker

Sounds like you need to set up an enfilade to shoot it sideways up the arse, then, since it drops to 11/11/11 after a single pen.

Yeah, they were definitely a unit most people expected would get toned down a notch, not significantly buffed. Methinks the Wraith has the potential to exceed the Wave Serpent as the game's new boogeyman super unit, and not without some good reasons. Perhaps not quite, but it's certainly not far behind.

They're up there with that whole jetseer council thing i recon.
some of the stuff these wraith's can do is the kind of stuff i would say in hyperbole or as part of a joke.

i feel like a broken record with this "GW just buffs stuff to eigther sell a model or 'rebalance' the game" line.

40k in general has gotten like that, if I suggested that I should be able to field a clump of units, outside the FoC, and they get a bunch of free special abilities for no extra cost, even just a year ago, I'd have been laughed out of every gaming club in the world and flames off every internet forum around.

Now? Well, because GW printed it, people are OK with it. LIikewise, stuff that in 5th ed just a couple of years ago would quite literally have been pure internet hyperbole is routinely seen and in fact some people get up in arms when you want to nerf it (e.g. 2++ rerollable invul saves, Invisibility, armies of Knights, etc).

The game has run away on itself *very* quickly.

Dark Angels are "special" in the bad way and don't have access to sternguard. As for shooty units I think I will just run my ravenwing / crusader list against it next time. ~ 18 bikes, a pair of landspeeders, and a crusader all buffed with dakka banner and PFG Librarian. Alternatively I can build up my Space Wolves ally list and fight fire with fire by throwing wolf cav at them. They are essentially even units besides points cost.

Lootas are not a great answer. First of all, you got to actually see them and it's gona be hard cause they can move through walls. Than, a squad of 15 lootas will do around 3 wounds to wraits. Which is downgraded to ~1.5 wounds with formation and spiders and even lower with a nearby necron lord for rerolling 1-s. And you basically have just one-two turns to kill them.

Furthermore, lootas aren't that great against the whole cron army anywayz.

Yep, you could get lucky and wraiths could get unlucky...Heck, i've once killed a flying daemon prince firing grot blastas. It doesn't mean grots are great at killing daemon princes.
