Just wondering what you guys think. Will every army appear in a similar kit, with a LE special character model?

I've been debating finishing my Necron collection, but since I need "one of everything," I'd rather buy it through this kind of box. I want to wait, but... I don't know if it'll ever materialize.

Depends, did they fulfill their job as sales promotions for GW?

If yes, you'll see more.

If not, probably not.

note: job as sales promotions does not mean "Did they sell well" it means "Did they get people to buy them AND other stuff".

Even if they do sell well, I think the only likelihood of a box with Necrons is if it's in a "SM vs. Necrons" set. That seems to be their theme, since selling Space Marine's is their number 1 priority, as they're the poster boys. Assault on Black Reach was Orks vs SM, Battle for Maccrage was Nids vs SM, Dark Vengeance was Chaos vs. SM, and Shield of Baal was, once again, Nids vs. SM.

I would guess the likelihood of Necrons getting a box would be 1 in however many not-SM armies there are, haha. Although they do seem to go for the non-humanoid or at least very mutated and evil (like Chaos) opponent to the SM in their sets, to make it so that whoever you get it with gets a very different style of army.

I don't think so. We would have seen more by now.

If they go back and update the 6th ed codex books soon I would think so.

One wonders with the common argument of plastics being high-priced because of tooling costs having to be re-couped, why GW insists on having LE plastic models. That is dumb economics.

Well, because frankly they don't need to charge as much as they do for their plastics. It's absurdly overpriced. There are plenty of companies that mass-produce plastics and the price:value ratio is a lot better on their products (Tamiya comes to mind). Making LE character is certainly not a loss for them, if anything the price (if you finagled the cost of just the single model) would probably be more on-par with what people consider reasonable.

Yes, I would like to see more of this style box set, and I think we will see another the nect time they want to sell us the next series of campaign books they cook up.

I think it's a safe bet that armies like the sisters of battle, imperial Knights, wont be in a box set like stormclaw. I can see marine armies and popular Xenos armies getting ones, though.
