Thinking about this list vs my friends Venom spam DE.
Idea is keep toughness off the table to minimize the poison.
suggestions/comments appreciated.
(140) Warpsmith: MoN, 5++
(50) Cultists x10
(125) Chaos Marines x5: Plasmagun, Rhino
(125) Chaos Marines x5: Plasmagun, Rhino
(305) Chaos Contemptor: TL autocannon x2, extra armor, MoN, Dreadclaw drop pod
(270) Decimator: Butcher Cannon x2, MoN
(115) Helbrute: Reaper Autocannon, Missile Launcher
(144) Chaos Spawn x4: MoN
(170) Heldrake: Hades Autocannon
(210) Chaos Fire Raptor: Reaper Autocannon Batteries
(175) Plague Hulk: Warpsword
(142) Chaos Predator: Autocannon, Heavy Bolters, Combi-Bolter, extra armor, Outflank Legacy
Turn 1 drop pod + the outflanked predator open up some interesting strategies. Or turtle turn 1, then have a huge DS + drop pod turn 2, that much DS is too reliant on luck though? Not 100% sure about the Drop pod, but we arent super competitive and Id really like to use it, so eh. Hopefully its a good game!

I am a bit confused on what you mean to minimize the poison. If its poisoned it will always wound on 4+ (or other number).
I don't like the Hades Autocanon on the Heldrake. It fires at BS3 so your are only going to hit on 2 (statistically) and wound on 1 maybe 2 if at infantry. The flamer can wipe units in one attack and then vector strike on there way out to finish them off.
I don't know much about the FW guys so i can't help much there. I would leave the Helbrute with at least 1 PF so you can pop a tank if needed in CC. spending to much on weapons can be a loss if you have to run them.
The cultist seem out of place almost like you tossed them in to finish off the points. I would rather take a 2 more CSM in the squad and 1 in the other, or a power fist in both units.
I am not a big fan of preds, but that is more my opinion, but if you are going to use it drop the combo-bolter and take demonic possession to shake of crew effects.

Why does the contemptor need a drop pod with its 48" range weapons? If you're putting it in a drop prod, give it at least one dreadnought close combat weapon (I'd give it two, with built in melta guns each).

DE Poison doesnt auto would on AV models unless Im mistaken?
The Hades on the Heldrake is a choice Ive arrived at after the flamer killing less per turn than the Hades. My friend knows to space his flamer targets out, and rarely was I able to get more than 3-4 models under the template. Im not sure how you Vector Strike the same target you flamed either. With the amended baleflamer rules its not possible is it?
Cultists are sitting on a backfield obj.
Yea Im inclined to agree, Predators arent that great. Just painted up a really cool one though, so hopefully it can get something done.
As for the dreadclaw, yea I have doubts about it. Dont really need to get to Venoms' side/rear armor.

DE has poison to hurt your tough spawns and plague marines. DE has lance to pop your tanks. DE has scary melee. the answer is and always has been to spam hb and auto cannons. baledrake is actually good vs night shields transport.
gun batteries maybe bad as poison wrecks their high t.
you need to drown DE in zombies.
Typhus
2-6 squads of xombies
elite helbrutes with ac+ml
fast: baledrakes
heavy: heavy bolter havocs with many bullet catchers
ally R&H from IA13 or just primary them.

Oh my! You do know that flamers can hit models inside open topped transports now right? To me a baleflamer is exactly what you need for venom spam!
