Command Horizon is a 6mm Sci-fi wargame that puts players in the role of a Commander who pits their forces against another Commander and their force.
Your skills will be tested as you try to outmatch and outsmart your enemy. The game features pre-dominantly tank-battles that can be supported by other assets in your arsenal.

We have started a series of blogs on our website exploring aspects of Command Horizon. From core game mechanics to race introductions, we cover plenty of information about the game as it develops. Blogs are updated 3-4 times a month paving the way for players to experience elements of the game before the printed rulebook is out.

The 6mm show 'The Joy of Six' held in Sheffield in July is our aim and goal for releasing our Command Horizon rulebook and where you will be able to attend a seminar that reveals the next stage of our plans for the game.

You can follow our progress via our website: www.empgames.co.uk or if you have access to facebook you can follow us there.
We welcome your comments, feedback and questions.

How does it compare to Command Decision?

I love CD, and the Sci-Fi version Striker II where each stand represents a fire-team or squad (depending upon level of play).

We have been able to play games with entire divisions with these rules.

Most people get confused by them, though, because the rules put the player in the role of the Force Commander, and this restricts their ability to freely move units or react as an omniscient being who can see the entire battlefield. It forces limited options on a player, and many get frustrated that they cannot do exactly what they wish with every unit on the table.

But I love games like that.

Not played Command Decision or Striker so I can't compare directly.

Basically you are a Force Commander with 6-12 units under your control, You have Command points to spend each turn or to save for your opponents turn.
These points allow you to order your units to take various actions.
The Command Points play an important part of the game so you have to use them wisely.

Example unit size can be a unit of tanks with 3-5 models. A platoon of Human(Alliance) infantry 6 bases. 2 bases per squad.

We will have a new rules download soon for play testing and will post a link .

So....

Is it like a DBx system that uses PiPs to move? This is what it sounds like.

Which isn't a bad mechanism to control and limit actions (abstracting the commander having to choose where to apply his focus).

Kind of as in you spend points for units to take an action.

Most units can have multiple points spent on them, some units get to move for free.

Movement for most units cost more for a second movement.

You can spend points to increase unit fire power.

There is a chance to shoot in your opponents turn.
