Hi all,

Just wanting to make sure before I kit bash... this model appears to be able to drop his crozius for a relic, such as the mace of redemption. Seems Clear in the codex rules, I've just never seen a chaplain without his crozius.

Relics say you can swap ANY weapon for it, which means the Crozius counts. You're totally kosher to make this a thing.

You can but I don't know why you would want to.

I've made the model you are talking about, but instead swapped the storm bolter for the MoR, this way the guy gets +1 attack, rather than 2 bolter shots.

I agree from the gaming standpoint, but from a modeling standpoint you gotta realize that an intimidating gun with a giant, threatening Mace is cooler than a Crozius and a giant Mace, when you see that one of those weapons is essentially never going to be used.
My friend went the logical route of having his Terminator interrogator holding a two-handed Mace, and it counts as having both weapons for the sake of gaming.

I know that was slightly off topic, but meh.

Not to mention that the mace of redemption can activate "smite mode" once per game idunno seems like a STR 10 AP 2 bash to the face would be worth it suck on that crosius

Wrong weapon mate- the relic mace is only S+2/3 IIRC

There's a beast in every man, and it stirs when you put a sword in his hand

It cannot Smite, but I'd guess you're mixing it up with Bane of the Traitor, which makes the Mace extra tasty against CSM.
