So, I play among friends, semi-competitively (not tournament level), and they bring fairly diverse armies to the table (Eldar, Necron, Ork, GK, AM), and we often play 1x1x1 or 2 vs. 2, so I'm trying to build an adaptable list. I don't have a ton of models besides these (I basically converted the whole Dark Vengence kit, then bought a Heldrake, Oblits, and Huron). I've got some termies that didn't make the list, and those ridiculous power weapon chosen that come in DV. So, my questions are largely about the best way to organize these forces (upgrades, helcult?), though I'm interested in the opinions of you all concerning which models I should buy the next time I come into some cash. Thanks in advance!

Gift of Mutation isn't really worth the cost. You'd be better off dropping it everywhere and taking another marine.

Your CSMs could use a special weapon. Flamer, Melta, and Plasma all have their advantages. If you're taking a Combi-Melta on your Aspiring Champion, tho, they should probably have a meltagun in the squad as well.

CSM aren't all that impressive on their own, but getting them Rhinos will give them some much-needed mobility. They're a bit of a pain - all that money and effort to assemble + paint for a 35 pt transport, but once they hit the table, they're worth it.

I'm not entirely sold on the Hellcult, but I've heard some people praising it. Worth trying it out, I suppose.

I completely disagree. It's totally worth the cost as a simple buff for 10 points. Hard to go wrong with that.
