We had our RIF OP2 yesterday and I came second, managing to win an assimilated Klingon ship

I won my two games as a rebel with the following fleet

Sphere
Khan
Fleet Captain Independent (Klingon)
Attack Pattern Shinzon Theta
Joachim
Alexander

Octahedron
Independent Captain

My blind was the Prakesh - Dorsal Weapon - Tasha Yar

In my first game I faced a Sphere, Type 03 and Ferengi fleet. Khan fired at the Sphere which chose not to use Feedback Pulse while it still had shields, I rolled 3 crits and triggered Attack Pattern Shinzon Theta causing his shields to fall and inflicting two crits which thanks to Joachim included a stunned helmsman. The Sphere was destroyed the following round and I went on to win comfortably as shots against Khan gave him access to battlestations, thanks to Alexander

Also won my 3rd game versus a Tactical cube, Sphere and Kazon predator. Again Attack Pattern Shinzon Theta helped me knock down the Tac cube's shields allowing me to crit it to death. I lost Khan soon after but managed to go on to win with the Octahedron surviving.

I faced Voyager, Scimitar and the Scout Cube. I got some bad shooting rolls which meant it took me too long to kill Scimitar. Second of Five got rid of Shelby and Sulu from Voyager but the ship was still a pain to kill (Picard 8, Paris, EHP) and I lost that game

Great day of gaming and it was great to see that the Rebel fleets (which were allowed to be mixed factions but still ship pure and Borg ships counting as independent) were able to hold their own versus the Borg.

A victory with Borg is a tainted victory.

The Borg were my main faction until I destroyed every regular opponent in the meta, in the space of a week.

Congratulations to you that you won the Klingon/Borg ship.

Try using it with a pair of Scout Cubes. It's not a bad fleet.

RIF 2 forces you to field a Borg fleet - as does the fact that several of my game group play them as their primary faction

Always glad to see more Romulans on the table, beautiful mines are a terrible thing to waste
