Why is there a heavy destroyer under fast attack? Also I don't really support Multilators, through past experience they have failed me.

You can upgrade one model in a unit of Destroyers to a Heavy Destroyer.
You can take Destroyers in a minimum squad size of one model.
Mutilators are to support boxing in the enemy.
Bargelord is the Warlord, aims for Strategic Traits.

3 Maulerfiends, 3 solo spawn WITHOUT marks, 2 cultist units, 3 units of wraiths w/ whipcoils, 2 units of Voidblade Praetorians, 3 units of Immortals, and the bargelord/juggerlord come to 1855 points. Not my cup of amasec, really. You lose out on a lot of support for the luxury of yelling Leeroy Jenkins..

That's pretty much the list I am thinking of building for my very first army.

Not sure what the chaos forces are adding to the necrons. What is your plan for them as maybe we can better assist with your list?

Why even bother with the Mutilators? They're wasted points. Just make a full Spawn retinue for the Juggerlord.
With Mephrit you also have your own special Warscythe, which has bonus rules for free (both the regular and special are 20 points, after all).

More solos/expendable threats, troubleshooting, and target saturation.
The alternate idea I was interested in was swapping out the Juggerlord for two Sorcerers with Meltabombs/Familiars, and sticking them w/ the Cultists. Run them Malefic, deploy on opposite flanks, and use to reinforce one location or another. Preferred Summons being Hounds/Daemonettes. Use the leftover 10 points to add either Voidreaper or a Gauntlet of Flame.

Like the concept but would recommend the following changes:
Trade Barge lord for anything else in the codex. Put with Immortals in scythe. Ive played with this unit a few times and IMHO its clunky and doesnt do much for the points invested.
Also while I admit my knowledge on Chaos units lacking, I have played against obliterators many times and dont consider them very threatening unless in large numbers. I would drop them and the heavy destroyer out or the FA slot, take a third squad of tomb blades and up the Heavy destroyers in HS slot to two models each.
Should save you ~12 points for upgrades plus whatever you save from HQ swap and keep the movement and MSU feel.
Good Luck.

I don't think alternative detachments will be accepted as alternatives to CADs for much longer though.
It's obviously two CADs from two different armies in nature, so that bs is bound to stop - or just allow any two detachment from any two sources.
