Time to talk about a concept that a fellow ork mad mek and myself discussed the other day. Shock Attack Wagon! In IA:8, there is the mek junka and it can take a turret mounted Shock attack gun! This is an Av 13 13 10 tank. Kind of costly unit to play but for the end result fire power, totally worth it. Plus it also gives a shock to your opponent when you roll double 6's, or double 4's. You can also put 1 or 2 big meks inside with their own shock attack guns. (The tank can hold 10 models, but this gets so costly that when you put in the 2nd sag, you are over 300pts in a single unit) Personally I suggest 1 extra smg. I also suggest taking the ram or deff rolla (Why not, its free) and a unit of burnas.

Why burnas? Because when you roll double 4's for the vehicle sag, it causes the junka to be placed in contact with the unit you shot at and you count as tankshock/ram the unit you picked at full speed. Then you through out the burnas template. Junka is an open topped tank. (you can upgrade it so it is not, but then you can fire the burnas or the 2nd sag) The burnas would score 9x (number of models under the template) which is pretty scary in its own right.

Another reason why sag wagon is awesome, you get 2-3 chances to roll double 6's and shoot a vortex large blast marker at someone.

Thoughts?

It should be a carnie jail with snotlings being vacuumed out to the SAG

I am the kinda ork that takes his own washing machine apart, puts new bearings in it, then puts it back together, and it still works.

I've played it. And yeah, its super fun.
Just a few quick things -- it's only AV12 max, and you have to pay extra to get that.
Burnas are great out of open-topped vehicles. Just remember you can't burninate after rolling the double4. Check under transport rules. Moving at full(cruising) speed, passengers can only fire snap shots, so no templates. But just dare someone to charge that thing -- you still get Wall of Death on overwatch!(I think)
Upgrading a few to meks would be useful, though. They're essentially free, and makes your super-long range AP2 blast even more repairable.

regarding the Zoink result

It says that if the target is a vehicle, then it is treated as if it had rammed at full speed. Then it says if the target is not a vehicle, the Junka is considered to have tank shocked it.

So really the burnas can burninate as long as you dont target a vehicle.

Mek junka is Rhino size vehicle. The rules for it are in IA:8.

It might not actually work. IA:8 and the FAQ does say you move at full speed to do the ram/tank shock. I will double check the rules for full speed. Personally, the term 'full speed' is not coming to mind. I know we have combat speed and cursing speed. Either way, shock attack gun wagon is an amazing unit. I used one last night against a friend and I rolled double 6's on turn one with it and blasted a unit of bikers with it. Personally the big meks with the SAG are my favorite. This is because I usually give them the git-finda and just let them sit somewhere on the table.

Dread Mob seems to have the most up to date rules for it.
Just says Ram / Tank Shock, no mention of full speed.

Then again, the Shock Attack is Ordnance isn't it?
If you fire it at all you're Snap Shooting everything else.

Just curious about the Gretchin scavengers in the dread mob list:

RAW; is there permission to take additional Runtherds beyond the ones you *must* take?

Yes, the vehicle's other weapons fire as snap shots. Worth it to pay for TL big shootas in this case, though?

Anyway, I don't believe the BRB says anything about passengers firing snap shots. The question is whether 'full speed' = 'cruising speed'. You know, 'cuz we establish certain words in game rules terms, but who cares about using the same words in every situation?

It really doesn't matter, because if the Junka Rams the passengers are snap-shooting anyway (that's part of the ram rules).

The tank shock part doesn't say "Full Speed", only the ramming, is it's whatever speed the vehicle moved before the Tank Shock.

I'm not seeing anything that allows Runtherds beyond the essential, otherwise I'd a unit of 20 Runtherds with Grot-Prods and charge in with S7 attacks all day

Yeah I looked up the ordnance rules last night and from what i can tell is that when you fire the turret SAG it will cause the big shootas to snap-fire but not the guys inside the tank. This has to do with the fact the two are treated as two separate units. The only time one will effect the other is when the wagon moves. This will cause the big mek inside to count as moving.
