Playing a tournament here in a couple weeks and just wanted to get some feed back.

3X Hive Tyrants with x2 Devs and egrubs ( 1 with hive commander )

1X Malanthrope

2X Zoans & 1 Neurothrope in pod

1X Lictor

3X Mucolids

2x Ripper Swarms ( one with DS )

2x Crones

2 Mawlocs



5 fliers with backfield threat from the mawlocs, zoans to clear out people in cover or destroy heavy armor, Mucolids because 15 points, and lictors and ripper to snag objectives.

Fire away.

Not sure why you have Hive commander? You have no troop that needs it. The only reason to take Mucolids is to fill the mandatory troop slots so only take one and then the 2 rippers. So Far that is 50 points saved to either get another lictor or zoanthrope. I'd say lictor for an extra scoring unit

I don't think there is a slot to take an additional Lictor. But saving the points may be a good idea, I don't see what Hive Commander does for you, but Old Adversary, or Fighter Ace are valid choices.


Even grabbing one more swarm of Tunneling Rippers is a good purchase.

I don't understand...Hive Commander lets you Outflank one Troops...are you talking about something different?

I'll have to pull up my codex. Does it still not give +1 to reserve rolls?

No. Only thing in the Codex that does that is the Swarmlord

Why not replace the Mawlocs with Trygons or Trygon Primes? I think those would work better.

Damn. Guess they took that out with the new dex. Haven't used it since the new book dropped. Have to allocate those points somewhere else.

Trygons are crap now and Primes are really only good if you need something with mobile synapse. I've got that covered so it would just be 90 more points I don't have or want to spend.

Fighter ace gives you the d3 roll right for either crap, +1 wound, and ability to fly off the table edge if you're within 12"?

When Smash got Nurfed, Wormeys became seriously over priced for what they can do. Not "crap" so much as a poor purchase... A Prime costs the same as a Winged Tyrant, more or less, and there is no comparing the two.
