I've finally bit the bullet due to the S&V faction, I've played a few games of xwing but wasn't really in to Rebels or Imperials.
Anyway,I know it's early but here's the ships I have access to (assuming the mail is delivered on time)

Firespray slave I
2 Y wings
2 Z 95s
2 M3-As
HWK 290
2 Starvipers

I know I can't fit all of these in a list
I was thinking to start 2 Starvipers and Slave I with an upgrade

And then as I get more control of the rules something like this
2 Y wings
2 Z 95s
2 M3-As w HLC and maybe try out the scyk

The Starviper and the Scyk seem to go together with Scum being the only fragile maneuverable interceptor type ships. Serissu in particular boosts the survivability of these ships by quite a bit, when every hull point, and by extension every evade result on the green dice matters quite a bit. For this reason, a defensive Serissu (elusiveness or push the limit and a stealth device) plus two souped up Starvipers (Xizor and Guri or Guri and a Vigo) will be just as slippery as a TIE interceptor/phantom list but a lot more durable and debatably harder hitting. You could try bringing three barebones vipers.

This list lacks a real "anchor" though so I've been experimenting with swapping one viper for the lowest Y-wing pilots for something a little tougher to joust with other fat ships, and split the attention of the enemy list.

A firespray accompanied by Zs, a HWK such a Torkhil or Palob that can turn one ship into easy target (or Dace if you like Ion I guess) and a Y or two if you can fit them with some autoblaster turrets with or without the title for some cheap undodgeable firepower. Kavil is a great pilot for this kind of list with a Blaster turret and R2 agromech.

The second "bruiser" list is going to be a lot easier to use. Where as the finesse list will take some getting used to but can pick apart less maneuverable squadrons that can't keep the vipers in arc (because turrets will have a hard time against autothrusters and Serrisu's reroll)

This is all just theory crafting but I'll be putting it all to the test very soon.

I had thought of the fire spray and hwk supported by Z95s.
The fire sprays seem low on strength for their cost but maybe that's because I love the model, but there's no character for them I totatlly dig

I'm desparetly trying to think of a Starviper heavy list, but I don't have a third model and if I include Xizor, I run out of points too quickly

Thanks for the thoughts

I don't think it will even be close to as slippery for the same reasons that Biggs lists are so predictable: you have to keep everyone within range 1 of the key ship. That seriously limits your maneuvering options unless you're willing to give up on shots with some ships and/or take your chances with the asteroids. Maneuverability-focused ships work best when they have the freedom to move independently, preferably with some meatshields to tie up your opponent's ships and block their ability to counter.

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.
