With the new Harlequin's released, the Veil of Tears power tells you to roll 2d6 to see if you're range. But what about torrent weapons? I know they are placed anywhere within 12" but does that count? I mean, it's simple with weapons that have a range 'X"', but how would that out with weapons with the torrent profile?

Torrent weapons work in the same way as any other shooting attack - if the firing unit is not within the range rolled, then it may not fire at all that turn. It's not based on weapon range at all, but only concerned with the distance between the two units.
One caveat: if you target a non-Veil'd unit that is standing next to the Veil'd unit, you might be able to hit some with the template (as long as you still hit the maximum number of possible models in the targeted unit).

And what about the template, is that included in the calculations too?
Let's say I'm able to see 10" from 2d6x2 and that's enough for me to place my template on exactly on model, then I'm allowed to place the template on that model and anything behind it?
What if that unit was 12" away, I rolled 10", could I then just place the template on the 10" maximum spot and gain the extra reach from the template? What exactly prohibits this?

It doesn't limit the range of the weapon, you are either within the distance between the two units, in which case the shooting attack is resolved completely normally, or you are not within the distance, in which case nothing happens at all:
A) There is 10" between the shooting unit and the Harlies, a roll of 10 or more means the template can be placed, even if that would take the fat end of the template beyond 10".
B) There is 10" between the shooting unit and the Harlies, a roll of 9 or less means the shooting unit cannot fire at all.

It is the range to the unit, not the range of the weapon. The unit can fire any weapon as long as it is within the distance rolled.

I see. Thank you guys for clearing that up. I frequently play against dread knights, tyrannofexes and some times hellhounds, so I just wanted clear guidelines to avoid discussions or wrongful interpretations.
