Got an e-mail today telling me my pre order for the Armada core set has been cancelled as it can't be sourced.

I know allot of people here ordered it when Amazon put the pre order up at a discount price like me. Has anyone else had their order cancelled as well?

Everyone I know who pre-ordered it from amazon has had the order cancelled. Which doesn't surprise me at all. I was so sure they would cancel them that I didn't bother ordering it.

Just checked the FFG forum and it's looks like everyone has had their pre-order cancelled.

I can;t see it listed to order it again. I wonder if it's worth kicking up a fuss and seeing if they will honor their original price promise of £46 when it does become available. I can't help but wonder if the low price was part of the reason they decided to 'cancel' all the pre-orders.

I kinda figured that the reason it was so cheap was because Amazon had bought a bunch at the US prices and were shipping there over.

Maybe that's a no-no?

I hope I haven't lost out on voucher stuff or whatever.

I ordered a couple ships as a gift to my brother from the Warstore, but they haven't cancelled anything on me.

It's unlikely that FFG will cancel to local stores, or distributors.

This is likely an effort to prevent those fire sales the big stores have, like Amazon or Target. I suspect they're focusing their first shipments to distributors and local stores to maximize profits and impact in the gaming community. Their recent merger might have given them to clout to do so.

Are you talking the merger with Asmodee Editions? Perhaps they want to send the game through their European holdings first, and then other distributors? Maybe trying to pull a GW and force people to buy product through them at MSRP? That would be kind of a move, but it's something I could see a French company doing.

Without getting my Tin Foil Hat on, I think Amazon was quoted a certain price, and decided to buy a bunch of the product at that price, but after seeing how much it would cost them to ship overseas, they would probably lose money, and maybe FFG/AG said something to them, so they decided to just cancel those early orders. I'm sure the people that had those orders cancelled can still order Armada through Amazon, just at a higher price, right?

Tin Foil Hat time: The game is being pulled due to some shenanigans between FFG and Disney. Or maybe there are production/shipping issues and the game is being pushed back... again.

It's still available to pre order elsewhere and you can still pre order the expansions via Amazon just not the core set. So it's unlikely to be a an issue between FFG and Disney.

I honestly think the most likely explanation is that Amazon have realised that the priced the pre order way to low and are cancelling now to force customers to re order at a higher price later on. Occums Razor and all that.

I received a delay notice from Amazon today, saying they would cancel my pre-order if I did not approve the delay by April 3. I of course approved ... so we'll see if they drag this out. I plan to keep on approving the delay if they keep on pretending there is one.

I emailed them about it and they got back to me saying they would honour the original price. I just have to mail them once I've it comes back into stock. So that's some good news.

I did the same and got a politely worded, "go feth yourself and the horse you road in on" in response.

It's now back on Amazon albeit at the full £80. I pre ordered it again and emailed them. Sure enough they honoured the origional pre order price of £46.

My order through another company has a scheduled shipping date of 28 Apr with arrival aprox 6 May.

After me pestering them with increasingly grumpy emails, Amazon have agreed to honour my preorder price - of course, assuming they don't cancel it again... At this point I won't trust anything until its in my hands.

That's a pretty hefty discount.

Ohhhh......That will be perfect for me. It's basically $3 more expensive than just the ships (not including fighters) would be from MM. So totally worth the extra tiny bit for doubles of all the actual game stuff vs. the almost $15 difference from MM.
