Hi guys, its been a while but i have finally got another battle report to share on the forum! this game is my renegades and heretics (imperial Armour 13) vs the elysians D-99 veterans (imperial Armour 4?) in a 200 point game of the relic.

Good report! It's neat to see how two relatively infrequently-seen armies play.

But I do have a concern - do the Elysians have different rules for Sniper Rifles? Sniper weapons lost Pinning by default in the 7th basic rulebook, afaik.

Yer your right, just checked. Just a slight rules hangover there but at least we know now.

I wasn't that happy with the chaos space marines, only the defiler was any good, and i can take them in my lsit anyway if i swap my HQ, which i will be trying soon. The rogue psyker didn't do much but for 35 points you can't expect much.

I am still very much learning with this army, its similar to guard but i have never played them either so it doesn't help. I will likely try all sorts of lists to start then settle and tweak one that i like the most.

I wouldn't give up on CSM yet - they can give you some muscles and if either Black Legion or the other supplement is allowed for renegades it gives you good access to some useful wargear.
