I've always been a fan of using walkers and meks. So below is a list that I'm preparing to go to an event for.
1x CAD (IA:8 Dread Mob)
HQ: Buzzgob
Troops
Deff Dread (Big shoota/ Rokket Launcha/ Grot riggers/ extra armor)
Deff Dread (2x Kustom Mega Blasters/ Grot Riggers/ extra armor)
Spanna boyz mob in a scrap trukk
LoW: Big Mek Stompa with Bully kannon
1x Great Waagh dettachment (Codex:Orkz Waagh Ghazghkull)
HQ: Big mek with Mega Force field
Mek
Troops:
2x Ard' boyz 10 man with Nob BP PK in Trukk with Ram
Elite
MANz in trukk ram, RPJ, and Boarding Plank
Fast-Attack
Dakkajet x3 suppa shoota
3x deff kopta with TL rokkets
Heavy support:
9x lootas + 1 mek
Da Planz: Big Mek stompa will be playing the rule of back field fire support and is most likely going to be the main threat of this list. Doesn't have quit the fire out put of the Stompa, but its weapons pack a real punch to them. Inside the Stompa will be buzzgob, big mek, mek, and lootas. This gives me 4 dice to roll repairs with and the lootas can provide overwatch fire from the stompa's fire ports. Big mek gives the stompa a 4++. Deff Dreads are in the list because they are armored and have objective secure. They will be my area denial unit. List as single dread units to avoid getting themselves blown up at once. The trukk boyz and MANz Missile are going to be my forward push through to smash into my opponents forces. Deff koptaz are an outflank and scouting threat. The dakka jet will provide close fire strafing runs.
Thoughts, Comments, and improvements that could be made. The list is 1850 on the nose.

Just a Note I recall the IA 8 dread mob requires you to have one group of spanna boyz as troops ..not to bad to do especially if you give them a mek and shootas and park them back feild or ride them in the stompa ..

Overall, decent plan! Big Mek Stompas are probably a better choice the vanilla ones, and giving nobz a PK is near essential. Lots of Lootas is always good, and deffkoptas and equivalents are the perfect phase 1 assault or harassment tools.
However, just a question. Just got my first truck having collecting orks for quite some time... Wondering what upgrades to get.
Thanks! And good list.

You are right. I missed that. I've edit the list and dropped one of the dreads. It was the one will all arms. Automatically Appended Next Post: QuazzaP wrote:Overall, decent plan! Personally it depends on what is in the trukk and what is going to be doing. Like for my MANz I want them in CC. So I put a boarding plank on their trukk. I also want them to move really fast so RPJ. And I don't want terrain to be an issue, so ram.
I would put a ram automatically on every vehicle. Since Rams are now dozer blades for the orks.

Thanks for the reply. As I'm using sluggaz, I'll probably give the trukk boarding plank, and ram. As for the boyz themselves I better use 'eavy armour for if/when the truck explodes. Ram is good I suppose for suicide ramming elites once the boyz are stuck in elsewhere, and is a re-roll for dangerous terrain as you said (dozer blade). Boarding plank is a longer charge range, and every little helps I suppose.
Back to your topic, I think that deffkoptas like I said are great for turn 1 assaults and with their scout/outflank, they can cause havoc on enemy tank's back armour, with TL rokkits. Trust me, I've had very good experience blowing up friend's guard tanks on turn 1, more than buying back the deffkopta's points cost.

Dakka jets. Meh. Theyre . . . not great. If you're worried about AA, bring some traktor guns. If you're looking for fliers, try the blitza bomma. The issue is that the dakka jets are supposed to be all about air superiority, but in reality almost every other flier in the game is better. Sure, 9 str 6 shots is pretty cool. but now that you dont double your shots when you Waaagh! . . . well, i stopped caring for them then.

I use mine as a anti-infantry flyer. I might use it in a dog-fight. Personally, none of the flyers in the regular codex are worth it other than the dakka jet. The other flyers out of FW are so much better and here is why. Comparing the two bombers, Blitza-bomber and Fighta-Bomber, Blitza gets 2 bombs; where the Fighta gets a max of 6. Blitza is str 7 ap 2. Fighta is str 6 ap 4. Blitza is a large blast Fighta is small blast. Blitza has the chance to crash into the ground when droping a bomb. Fight does not. Blitza can only drop one bomb. Fighta can drop as many bombs on the target up to its max. Blitza has 2 shooting weapons. Fighta has 5. (4 TL big shootas and a AA turret big shoota) Fighta can deep strike and is FA 11. Bombs can be exchanged for rokkits or Grot bombs in any combination to its capacity of 6.
The main problem I have with the Blitza-bomber is that once you drop your two bombs you lose your field threat and that is even if you get to drop both bombs with out crashing, either by scream decent or your opponent. Fighta is still is a threat because of its 4 TL big shootas it can through out.
Yeah, I would have to agree with you on the dakka jet loosing its double shots. That was awesome, but it would still say its an excellent flyer to use. I've been running mine lately with an attakk-fighta. He is a cheap small bomber plan.

I dunno about the fighta-bomma. But id rather have the large blast s7 ap2 armorbane vs s6ap4. True, after two bombs you lose your field threat for the most part. but I've seen a rare few fliers survive being in combat more than 3 turns anyway.
And either way, I just roll with tires and feet, and lets smelly 'umies think that having air power makes them "superiior"

What makes you think the Fighta Bomba can drop more than one bomb?
The rules for Bombs say 1 max per turn.
You seem to have missed out the Armourbane on the Blitza Bomba. Large Blast, AP2 and Armourbane will crack most tanks. And only scattering D6" makes it very accurate. It's a heavy armour cracker! The Fighta won't scratch much armour.
The two have very different roles. The Fighta is more anti-infantry, you'd be better off comparing it to the Burna Bomba.

Plus, the blitza is 40 points cheaper. The Fighta is a good multi-role, but still cant compete with enemy heavy fliers, which often sport lascannons.
