I play Space Wolves and Dark Eldar and I would take Vect over Logan Grimnar any day of the year. (No offense to His Majesty the High King, his model looks amazing by the way, even if it is a little festive).
Please, someone enlighten me on GWs thought process. I mean, at least an HQ for feths sake.

Random guess
- GW has been removing all Codex-entries without a miniature for a while now (e.g. Lady Malys, etc..), doubly so since they switched codexes to the new "picture-book"-format.
- While Vect technically had an ancient model, it was an old-school-style Raider that didn't match the newer Raider-aesthetic, so he got taken out.
That said, some "removed" units have been making comebacks, such as the Tyranids' Doom and Pods. So maybe he'll return at some point in the future. If he does, he'll probably be a LoW (if GW's current approach to Codex hasn't again changed a few times in the meantime).

No lord of war due to them not wanting to add the option to the raider detachment. Expect a supplement later featuring the cult of strife and vect's kabal

Vect wont be all that great in a LoW slot unless the Dias of Destruction becomes something truly awesome. I hate that Logan and Gazzy are LoW when you consider other LoW units such as baneblades, Stompas, Titans, etc.
I do hate the culling of the DE special characters. GW could have handled that much differently. Defiantly a slap to the veteran players out there.

Although I hold out a tiny candle of hope that later supplements/dataslates-possibly with new models-will return our special characters (or any functionality to wyches and hellions), my optimism in GW was largely crushed by the DE codex release.

A very reliable source over on Natfka reports he's seen the model, (Nightfury) and have details of what it looked like and etc etc.
And that it was SUPPOSED to be released in march/April/may(I think it was march or may tbh).
Described it as a Chariot but more Dark Eldari. He rumored it both before and after the Codex release.
He's reliable because he predicts many model releases before they come out and is able to describe them correctly. Unfortunately he doesn't have pictures. He's stated his source once in a thread on Natfka but it was deleted. I suspect he knows somebody in the warehouse or distribution center or something. Never rules, just the model. Automatically Appended Next Post: As for the other Characters from the DE codex, I suspect Duke Sliscus may come back in a GW written Corsair codex/supplement as that's what he was rather than an Archon.

I think I felt a slight tingle and a few years younger with that news - more excitement than watching the wytches in the arena

If they are out of the new codex they get their asses kicked even in their own arena. I hate that they no longer have heywire grenades. WHAT PURPOSE DO THY HAVE NOW GW?
Thank you, I am starting another thread about this topic.

Considering Vect's preference for not even fighting his own battles in the Codex I'm glad he's not a LoW. I'd prefer someone who actually strikes codex readers as a combat threat and not a "don't get on his bad side or he'll trick the imperium/chaos/etc into attacking you" threat.

To me, that's the coolest thing about Vect, He doesn't fight because he doesn't need to. It might have been cool if he manipulated the ally chart somehow to reflect his cunning and ability to play both sides against the middle.

Yeah. He could be a purely support Lord of War. So long as he is alive the army get crazy bonuses. And he really is only better in combat because he is so intelligent. If any army could do it and make it work it would be DE.
