My deathwatch and skimask mohawk's raven guard go up against an00bis's tau empire and lutnit's farsight enclaves. 1750pts a pop, we chose our warlord traits and of course all chose master of ambush because narrative. There was vodka. And land raiders.

We broke a new record, 57 minutes. It was a long day to say but well worth it. Tau are still huge a holes and hopefully we can find a new angle other than tacky space magic to deal with them.

First off, I watched that whole fething video and didn't see a single dick pic. Much disappoint. Secondly, a pimp's love is very different from a square's Great line.

Nice batrep. You guys should think about doing some army profile vids since you all have cool-looking armies.

There are some interesting conversions there on the tau. I like what you guys did to the piranha especially. I've watched your videos on youtube in the past but didn't know you were also on dakka. One thing I've always wondered is there is a way for you to adjust the white balance on your videos. I'm assuming your walls are not that yellowish color unless you guys are smoking each 3 packs a day down there!

Yeah An00bis thought the crew looked too exposed compared to tetres so he built those cool cupola things. He's made great use of those things, drones always blocking our path or giving things cover lol.

The walls are off white, white balanced the most recent report and it looks worse to me, I prefer the warmer yellow, much better for our skin tones as pasty northerners (I jhave terrible skin to begin with lol) but also better for the setting sun effect for in game pictures.

As someone who makes their living from photography and more recently videography, controlling colour is important and understanding white balance is important but the thought of needing white light is dogmatic for the simple reason that the colour of light outdoors changes over the course of the day, if I were to "white balance" away a sunset, I've taken away the warm tones and made them more neutral, more sterile.

To each his own I guess. What works in photography doesn't necessarily work in video. Good vidoes regardless and thanks for the quick reply.

No it's a fair point, darby had commented on one of our videos with the same advice about the yellow cast. One guy we know thought it looked like 70's vhs porno because it was so yellow lol.

But yeah, the warmer look more for the photography than the video but for the most part it's all done on the same little camera.

What program do you use to edit the videos? If you considered it a problem then you could always try to colour correct in the editing phase, I've had to do it in Premiere before to equalize the white balance in a bunch of different shots from different cameras that I had to put together... I'm sure you're WAY more aware of this sort of solution (and many more besides) than I am, but it is always an option of course.

Believe it or not I'm using pinnacle but I should be using premiere. You can definitely grade it afterwards and if that's the plan then a good neutral balance and a very flat look to keep as much of the dynamic range is the best starting point. No matter what with video the look gets a lot more baked in than with still images. I can shoot raw for the photos instead of just jpeg and do a lot more afterwards with good deal of latitude. With this stuff I just want to get a look I'm content with in camera that I don't have to keep switching back and forth to when I shoot images in between end of turn videos. It's hard enough for me to remember to switch image stabilization on and off lol and it can actually cause the image to blur if the camera is braced. For the dslr video of the armies I may have to use davinci resolve to grade it because it looks pretty bad.
