I have recently constructed a Ordinatus Majoris, armed with a Sonic Disruptor and plenty of other secondary Offensive and Defensive weapons.

It has an Apoc Match to get to on the 28th. It going up against masses of Ork and Chaos and I need to get its stats down
Its a fairly large unit in size and built

What I have so far.

Points 2750
AV 14/14/13
Hull Points 18
Void Shields 5
BS 4

Weapons (per section of the vehicle)

Frontal Track unit:
Turret Mounted Punisher Cannon (Or Inferno Cannon)
Hull Mounted Multi Melta (Or Heavy Bolter, Heavy Flamer)
Sponson Mounted Autocannons

Middle Track Unit:
Casemate mounted Single Barrel Turbo Laser
TL Duel Rocket Launcher
2 Independent Hydra Autocannon Turrets.

Stern Track Unit.
Sponson Mounted Gatling Bolt Cannons (aka the Avenger Bolt Cannon, which is usually mounted to the Avenger Strike Craft. I feel a full fledged Vulcan Megabolter would be too much. If not ill just have it as Punisher Cannons. (I'm in the process of constructing them, Picture doesn't show them.)
Rear mounted TL Heavy Bolter turret (under construction)

Primary Weapon:

Sonic Disruptor
ST D AP 1 Heavy 5, 10 Inch Blast Template* (Only fires single template. 5 hits per target underneath)
Range: 240 inches.

Advanced Targeters
Sonic Resonance
High Energy

Advanced Targeters: The advanced targeting algorithms and sensors (like the giant radar on the Middle Track Unit) Gives the Sonic Disruptor BS 5

Sonic Resonance: : Any Removable terrain (Bunkers, Ruins, etc) under the Template is removed, No Cover saves can be taken against the Sonic Disruptor. Defensive Structures (Bastions, Aquila Strong Points, Etc.) Have a 4+ on the Damage Chart If they are not outright obliterated by the Weapon. Also. There is only 1 template fired. Targets/individuals are hit 5 times underneath it from the variable frequency.

High Energy: The Sonic Disruptor is ST D throughout the Template. There is no ST drop off.

Minimum Range: 14 inchs.

Looks nasty, but not entirely unreasonable with that massive price tag on it. I was pretty iffy on it until I saw that you're really only firing a single template. So while you're pretty much guaranteed to destroy whatever you touch with it, you're potentially not hitting much if your opponent is wise enough to spread out. 2,750 points worth of deepstriking anti-vehicle units will get past that voidshield easily enough and shut it down, but players will still feel pressure to actually take it down rather than ignore it. I'd be willing to at least try playing against it.

ATTENTION
. Psychic tests are unfluffy. Your longing for AV is understandable but misguided. Your chapter doesn't need a separate codex. Doctrines should go away. Being a "troop" means nothing. This has been a cranky service announcement. You may now resume your regularly scheduled arguing.

It's far too overpowered at the moment. With this, you're getting 5(!) 10" Destroyer Blasts, as well as a Turbo Laser and numerous other bits and pieces.

I'm going by the old BoLS rules they had for this thing and it was far better. It was a fair bit cheaper, and the Sonic Disruptor was simply a Destroyer-strength Hellstorm template with unlimited range. Other weapons were limited to 2x Heavy Bolters and 2x Lascannons. I would use these rules as a template and work up from there: The original rules were designed for 4th Edition I believe so you'll have to upgrade them a bit to make it compatible with 7th, but as it stands I just think it's a bit too much.

Fair enough.

But please note. The Disruptor only fires a single Template (under Sonic Resonance). The targets underneath take 5 St D hits. I was unsure of how to word it.

I looked over the BoLS version. That one is 1500 points and personally felt rather weak for that many points. I can up my Ordinatus to 3000 if necessary.

Ty for feedback.

Fair enough, I probably didn't understand the rules.

The thing is with all Sonic weapons, is that it's hard to put something like sound waves into the game mechanics. If I was designing this, I would change the Sonic Disruptor to a "line effect weapon", something like this.

Range - 180"
S: Destroyer
Ap: 2
Heavy 1, Beam, Primary Weapon

Beam: To fire the weapon, choose a point on the battlefield anywhere within range and line of sight, and trace a straight line of 1mm width between the point and the weapon. Any model whos base the line crosses suffers a Destroyer hit. Super-Heavy vehicles and Gargantuan Creatures suffer D3 hits instead.

For sound weapon references, consider looking at eldar vibrocannons or noise marine weaponry. Your proposed rules would be inkeeping with the former.
