Splattered With Acrylic Paint

An odd opener I guess, with a 3 year old and another on the way shortly, the time has come to hang up my brushes after over 20 years. However I've never posted any pics of my stuff to see how it fares and I'm curious to know if I was any good! I mostly painted and played a bit of 40k from rogue trader and the next couple of editions (eldar) but moved on to whfb chaos and later orks.

Well, as a father of two children I can say...

...there's no reason to give it all up and quit!

Sure, time is at a premium, but your hobby will be there for you when you need it - especially when you need a break or some fun downtime.

And then you can always introduce your kids to it too!

Still, whatever you decide, best of luck!

Thanks, I think opening my paints and discovering everything had dried out was the sign I needed to take a step back. If the kids are interested they may be able to persuade me otherwise but I'll be happy just posting my back catalogue I think!

Remember; kids don't stay little forever. 3 of my 4 leave me be to do what I like. #4 is in league with chaos, I fear.

Haha!

As a dad of one little one (18 months young) I know it can be difficult to dedicate time to the hobby but honestly it is perfectly manageable. You are entitled to and need 'you' time as well

"Trust in the Emperor at the hour of battle.
Trust to him to intercede, and protect his warriors true as they deal death on alien soil.
Turn their seas to red with the blood of their slain.
Crush their hopes, their dreams
And turn their songs into cries of lamentation."
